Yes - this unit cancels out your voice and allows ambient background noise to go through, thus preventing you from saying anything foolish.

rlasky wrote:Does it have A2DP capability - so you can listen to music or audio books, etc.

That is precisely the question. You would think that with the included stereo ear-buds that Samsung would make it blindingly obvious that is does indeed support A2DP, but sadly, their website is astonishingly sparse with details (http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/BHM6450NMACSTA) click on the "specs" page to be wowed with the sheer waste of a page.

So we are left to infer that when they say "with the capability to stream stereo audio" they mean "supports A2DP."

Finally, if the fine folks at Amazon are to be trusted, their webpage does list this BT headset as supporting A2DP. (http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Bluetooth-Convertible-SoundAlive-Enhancements/dp/B004R9PSL6)

Therefore it is the conclusion of this investigation that the BT headset in question does, in fact, support A2DP, and that the upstanding citizens at Samsung consider John & Jane Q. Dumbass to be far too ignorant to know what A2DP is, let alone need to know of its support by their product.

QED.
YMMV.

A Jatravartid question, perhaps, but is this usable with non-Android devices? Like, say, a blackberry Curve?

Does it do A2DP without the attachment? AVRCP? Does it pair with multiple devices at a time? My Jabra BT8010 could and I'm looking for a replacement. Also does it show the battery level on an iPhone? Does it speak caller ID? BT8010 had a display for CID but it didn't work with iPhones unless the caller was not in your contact list. An Insignia one would speak CID but it didn't use Phonebook Access Profile to obtain the names (speaks numerical CID only) unlike my Parrot SK4000 motorcycle headset (speaks CID names).

Wow, what a letdown. I saw the quality post, clicked on over expecting super models, then I see that they'll be doing something "one each way", so of course I click through, scroll down, and ... boooo!
Oh well, it's like a Big o' Cosmos, the anticipation's worth something at least.

According to the Samsung wharrgarrbblll on their website, "The user can also stream full fidelity audio and enjoy the rich sound through the single earpiece of the Bluetooth headset." So, my best guess is yes.

Probably not.

Those that want to use their own headphones, but don't want all these extra cables & what not, check out the Nokia BH-214. It's the loudest BT device I've used (other users confirm this too!). It does really well in the sound department as well.

I let my girl use them & I had to ask if she was on her phone or the BH-214! The stock earbuds work ok too & seal really well (almost too well). Also, it's almost the same price shipped.

Works great with my EVO. Supported profiles are: HFP/HSP/A2DP/AVRCP

Weird thing about Canada. For some unknown reason they like to celebrate the 4th of July on July 1st. Go figure.

We can of course fix all that when we annex the 5 western provinces, which by all rights should be part of the US anyhow. (We don't want Quebec, and the Maritimes are relatively worthless. Don't want Nunuvut, the other territories are negotiable)

Can someone confirm that this sucks with music? All I've ever wanted was a stereo bluetooth set that has high quality sound. I've not been able to find anything that sounds good... there's not even very many stereo bluetooth sets. Maybe it's a quality of the bluetooth technology?

I got a BT unit with my phone which had that thin plastic loop with it was supposed to hook onto my ear. Heck there even was a replacement loop. Both of them broke within 3 days - the little round fork pieces just wouldn't hold. Now if I want to use the unit I have to develop my inner ear muscles. I heard its possible with some practice.

I have been looking for a stereo bluetooth headset since the headphone jack on my phone is messed up (only one ear works). Mostly to listen to music at work, but i can see myself using them for runs as well. I have an iphone 3g, so i wouldn't get the benefits of the ap from what i can tell.

Should i get this one? I was also thinking about the Sony Ericsson MW600 which is ~$15 more.

I'm mostly wondering how awkward it will be to have the extra piece dangling all day, rather than the clip style of the Sony, comfort wise? Also, which will have better sound?

Any input would be greatly appreciated =D

I got a Parrot SK4000 and I've been really impressed with it. I have full-face modular helmet. FM reception could be much better but I didn't expect amazingness. I got mine off a deal site last month for $35 shipped. I have both sport and cruiser bikes and it does MUCH better on cruiser because the height increases wind noise. Over about 50mph its unusable on my sport-bike. Again, it all depends on you exhaust and helmet style/brand.

Just my 2 cents.

This is a great headset, lightweight long battery life, connects quick and the music quality is great. The earpieces fit well to block out outside noise and if you don't have a bluetooth connection there's an adapter for a regular headphone jack. Also this does work on any phone/device with bluetooth, you just don't get the app features. Personally I have an iPhone 4. Highly recommend.

I'm in the same boat, wireless would be great for running but I guess the bluetooth earbud hangs like a long necklace off of the earbuds? That would piss me off having that dangling and tugging on me for an hour

Is a full helmet crashier than a half-helmet because it covers your ears?

Is helmet + earphones more dangerous than a loud Harley without headphones or an overpowered stereo in a car?

Does it matter whether you're listening to loud music or an Audiobook or public radio?

Should earmuffs be illegal in cars?

Can deaf people drive motorcycles or cars?

If you can't drive due to minor sound muffling, you shouldn't be driving at all. Please don't project this inability onto the rest of us.

That Nokia still uses corded headphones. How is that different than plugging a headset into your phone or mp3 except there is an additional device?

Just for the record I always ride with earbuds in my ears & have never crashed. *knock on wood* My earbuds are just for listening to my iPod but I would love to be able to use my phone on my bike hands-free.
It gets tricky texting on a bike. Heck the other day I was texting down the highway & almost spilled my beer! ;)

i got garmin nuvi 265 with BT but it only pairs with phone to make hands free calling. boo
