Where can I find the overall Demensions of this TV? I want to put in motorhome and need to know if it will fit in the area available.

Not a bad deal. I bought the 40 inch Silo a while back and it worked great. Image quality was pretty good especially for the price. I also hooked it up to my computer to watch HD vids.

The tv worked right our of the box and I didn't have any issues with it so I can't comment on customer service.

Going this route you sacrifice the TV-tuner and usually the speakers (which you won't get anything through if you use DVI-HDMI adapters *anyway*). USB TV-tuners are pretty cheap nowadays though :-)

I have an HP Pavilion elite connected to my Dynex 32" HDTV using a DVI-to-HDMI cord and it pushes the sound to the TV fine.. completely caught us by surprise when we were trying to figure out how to get the sound connected. I think it depends on the card.

Just for the record, I see a USB port in one of the detail images. Not that I understand why that's important/a dealbreaker.

For the first time ever, I decide that it would be wise to take the time to read the comments carefully to weigh in on whether buying this tv would be a good decision.

Meanwhile, on the woot front page...

SOLD OUT.

Nope. It's one item a day -- except during Wootoffs, where they can have several things per hour. I've seen Woots that sell out by 10am and there was no replacement until 1am ET.

You know how I know you consume too much media?

I kid out of familiarity/jealousy. A few years ago gave up trying to have a fully enabled AV setup because of this, now I use the PS3 and the DirecTV DVR only. Between the two it does everything I reasonably need.
Still agree that a TV is the way to go, good post.

The woot-off ended on June 15.

Considering July 12 is Woot's birthday, I don't see a woot-off happening this month. Instead, I see the stock market game for a Big o' Cosmos or some other system similar to that.

But then again, this is Woot, so you never know!

monoprice.com has HDMI <-> DVI adapters for between $2.34 and $2.64 each, depending on which gender you need on each side of the adapter.

I am completely shocked at the quality of this TV/Monitor. I have only used it as a computer monitor so far, but even with a very antiquated video card, a Nvidia 7800GT, using the VGA connection, I am getting stunning color and clarity, and quite acceptable text sharpness. With the very low power consumption, this will make a fine monitor for my media center controls and testing/processing software, while the main media viewing will be on a bigger screen TV. Sure the stand is weak and lacks any adjustments but if the display holds up for a few years I will be quite satisfied.

So of course, thanks to the awesome power of Fedex smartpost, my package says it's been delivered, but my office is closed on Saturday, it's not at the front desk, and the security desk guys say they haven't gotten anything from the postal service.

I love the USPS...

EDIT:
Finally arrived.

Just set mine up to use with my PC. It seems that there are no drivers for the it, and the resolution isn't 1080p when hooked up to my PC. The picture does not even fill up the screen. Even after messing with the resolution settings there is no option for the 1920x1080 resolution.

Is anyone else having a similar problem or did anyone else fix theirs?

Mine is doing the same thing with HDMI. I think has to do with overscan but I cannot adjust it on my cheap laptop's integrated GFX card. I'm sure it will be better using VGA since this is a fairly common problem with LCDs using HDMI.

The picture quality is very good though. I'm pleased for the price. Wish I could fix this issue however...

Mine has apparently disappeared off of FedEx and/or the USPS radar (it was originally estimated to arrive on the 9th. That date has since disappeared). I guess if it doesn't show tomorrow I need to look into FedEx's refund policy they seem to brag about in their e-mails.

Other than that, I am looking forward to leaving CRT nation behind. Though everything I am going to use it for will look weird without scanlines.

So I just received my television and after I hooked it up, I got nothing but hash on every channel and input. I couldn't even bring up the menu. I called Silo right away and they said that they are not honoring the warranty for any tv's sold by Woot because the televisions were stolen and Woot was not authorized to sell them. They said i need to call Woot and ask for my money back. Of course you can not "call" Woot, so I am waiting for a response to the email I sent. I hope they make this right. This is the third thing I have bought from Woot. I never had problems before, but if this isn't taken care of I won't visit the site again.

Scary to hear something about stolen TVs. Hope it wasn't woot employees.

Anyway, HDMI outputs properly, so I'm getting a DVI to HDMI adapter so that it all shows up right for my computer.

Ordered two, both came in today. One was missing a remote. Emailed woot to see what they will do. Sorry to hear about the real bad problems some people are having. This was my first Woot.

Using one for a TV and one for a computer monitor. First LED/LCD TV and monitor I ever owned.

As a computer monitor it is handling max resolution of 1920 x 1080 @120hz, at this resolution the screen fully fills top to bottom but side to side there is some dead space, 1-inch on the right and about 1-3/4" on the left. I could get the screen full edge to edge by going to a lower resolution but edge to edge isn't important, i just wanted max resolution. The computer is a Dell Inspiron 6000 Laptop with an ATI Radeon X300 video card with 64MB video RAM, running WinXP, not a high-end system by any means. The monitor is connected with a VGA cable. It did take some screwing around with the ATI settings and a few google searches to get it set up - had to manually tell the card what max resolution is for this monitor. Playing with an external monitor was a totally new experience so there was a learning curve.

The TV is set on "WaterGlass" screen size and am using DishNetwork. The speakers are barely adequate but do the job. I'm very happy with the displays.

Now just have to figure out what to do with that 1988 Sony Trinitron that still works great.

Stolen my foot, sounds like Silo dumped old stock and just doesn't want to offer support. If you notice, the warrenty provider on the description is totally different than Silo.

My trip report on using this as a monitor:
There's no 1 to 1 pixel mapping mode, which means trying to drive this thing via HDMI is a world of hurt. You'll get massive overscan and bars will be missing. You can shrink the resolution down via Nvidia control panel, but that causes windows to put your monitor in a nonstandard display mode, which might cause problems.

I'd suggest using a good old fashioned VGA cable, which works really well and looks fantastic, but since it doesn't identify as a PNP monitor, you'll be forced to yet again define a custom resolution, but I'm happy to report that you can drive this at 1080p at 60hz over VGA.

All in all, I'd say this was a good buy, but mostly cause it was DIRT cheap. Gee...maybe they were stolen after all. Woot, did you buy these from a white van? ;)

I dug for a while, and found a solution for anyone with the resolution problems.
Download "Powerstrip": http://entechtaiwan.com/util/ps.shtm

I was able to give the generic non-PnP driver the 1920x1080 resolution and it worked great via VGA.

Received TV today. Works well. Had to tweak picture settings for best picture (Settings available on request).

Was able to program cable remote control through Cablevision's unknown-TV-code process.

My only concern is the Byzantine Sigmac Warranty registration process. Turns out you can't register online, TV is not included in their list.

So should I send in their loopy paper-based registration?

Help, WOOT, help.

Add one more to the list of "Post Office says it was delivered days ago, but it still isn't here" complaints. Last call to the USPS said they have started an investigation and I should hear back within two days.

I really can't wait for this to arrive so I can plug it in, verify that it's DOA, and begin the "you stole it so we can't warranty it" process.

Got my Silo yesterday and had the chance to play around with it for a few hours. So far, I've been very disappointed.

First disappointment: The 178 degree viewing angle claim was an outright lie. This is obviously a standard TN panel with the The Day the Ponies Come Back (2000) viewing angles that TN panels are known for. Color starts changing after just a small amount of head tilt.

It took a while to figure out how to properly configure this to work as a computer monitor over HDMI (using a DVI to HDMI adapter), as it originally suffered from tons of overscan and being stuck in 1080 interlaced mode. I eventually figured out that the culprit was Windows and it's automatic choice of what display mode to use. Windows kept trying to send the TV a 29/30 Hz interlaced signal, so after I forced it to use 1080p60, everything worked great.

Haven't had any time to do proper calibration on colors yet. The Silo actually allows custom brightness/contrast/etc. settings over HDMI, so I'll be playing with those to try to find the best settings for my situation.

Monitor arrived with 1 dead pixel near the bottom of the screen, stuck in yellow color. I will try using a software dead pixel fixer later and see if it fixes it.

Second major disappointment: Monitor crashes/reboots and suffers from frozen picture very frequently. Using the zoom button on the remote in HDMI 1080i/p mode always crashes+reboots the TV. Haven't tested other inputs/resolutions yet. After switching to 1080p mode from my PC, noticed that image frequently freezes when monitor is coming out of standby / being booted up. In this scenario, it displays a single frame from when it first boots up and does not update the video afterwards. Generally requires multiple reboots and some finagling in Windows to fix.

I have yet to test non-computer devices, but I plan to run the TV through a gamut of testing over the next couple days to see how good/bad it is. The instability and viewing angle are already a major disappointment; hopefully the performance with AV, TV tuner, etc. will be better. If not, I think I already have enough issues to return this TV as defective/false advertising. :/
