I'd like to use this as a TV by hooking either my DVD player or my ROKU Streaming video box to it. So my question is, will that work? Anyone know for sure?

1) Can I plug a macbook pro into this? [If so what cables would I need?]
2) Since there is no speaker, what do people usually do to hear sound?
thanks
You can buy an adapter to make the macbook output to an hdmi device, try amazon or the apple store.
You would need to use the macbook speakers or plug in external speakers, such as a typical computer speaker set to our macbook.

It's not false advertising so much as what should be understood by the terms by this point, altho there ARE different types of backlighting techniques.
It's kind of like HD radio... people refer it to "High Definition radio, when in fact it doesn't even come close. It actually stands for Hybrid Digital.
