I received my 3 pack of earbuds yesterday & I am more than satisified ! 3 pairs of earbuds for $8 ? No they are NOT high end earbuds but they are also a lot better than the stock earbuds that come with ipods/iphones & mp3 players. I purchased these as emergency back-ups but i'll be using these regulary.I dont see how people can complain about earbuds they paid 99cents plus s/h for. Some people want something for nothing.

These are really not bad. Highs are a little tinny and the bass is not strong enough for me, but they are at least clear, not boomy at all, and very listenable. Great for a buck each!

Got these today and they sound decent enough. I really like the cloth wrapping for the cords. The major problem is that you can't tell L from R! How do you even miss that as an earphone manufacturer? Am I missing something?

Does it really matter which is left and right in a set of earphones? Not trying to downplay this but it seems like if it mattered all that much, you would know when they were not in the proper ear, or am I missing something?

I think they're great for what we paid.

Got mine and am very happy. Sound is fine, especially considering I'm listening to MP3s at 128. Might be a little brassy but that's better to me than not having enough high end.

Love the cloth-covered cords. A lot. Right off the bat I can tell they're not going to get tangled in as bad a snarl as some.

The OCD in me also is a little concerned about no L/R markings. Maybe now I'll learn to relax a little ;-)

Finally got these in the mail on Wednesday, my kids are very satisfied with them. My wife's now mad because I didn't get a pair for her, I should have went ahead and bought 6.

They definitely block out all external sound. Now everybody can ignore me. Thanks!

Holy crap, these things sound like complete and utter ass. Bad woot. I just plugged in the ones that came with my iPhone so that I can compare, and yep: The section 8s are the polar opposite of high performance. "Tinny" is an understatement.

NP: Megadeth, "Peace Sells" on good earbuds...

Got mine and if positioned in the ear correctly the sound is very good,if not they do sound tinny. How can you complain at this price? I would order these again.

Nice cloth cords, but no bass to speak of. Good for listening to NPR.

acpress.com Not cute, but useful.

OK, I bought 3 Section 8 High Performance Earbuds. All 3 Section 8 High Performance Earbuds came with torn rubber ear pieces. The spares were very difficult to put on. The
Section 8 High Performance Earbuds have no volume control on the cord.

Worst of all (for me) I cannot find any indication to tell the left from right! The Section 8 High Performance Earbuds have cute-ass icons for the artist homage but zero useful clue about how to use them.

Also, the Section 8 High Performance Earbuds sound flat with no bass or resonance. Perfect for poser dweebs and their dreary podcasts.

It matters if you are listening to something where sound is supposed to come from either the left or the right, such as a radio drama. If the person speaking mentions seeing someone/something to his left, and you hear the sound coming from the right, and you don't have the buds in the right ears, it can be confusing. For music though, I don't see how it would matter.

To find out which earbud is for which ear, go to a site like this: http://hearcom.eu/main/Checkingyourhearing/testarea/DE-RUB.html
and test your earbuds. Then just pick an ear, mark it with tape or something, and try to remember which is which. It might help to mark the earbud that matches your handedness, such as the right earbud if you're right handed. Or mark the right earbud with a red sticker (red for the right ear... R for R, make sense?). Or write on the tape "L" or "R". Or whatever makes sense for you.

And to the person who said changing the earbuds improved the sound, I doubted you but you are definitely right. Thanks for the tip!

Got a chance to test these. These are the greatest headphones I have ever owned! For all you shmoes out there with super small ear canals (I have the ear canals of a stud, obviously), try stuffing them in harder, momo's... If they aren't in far enough they sound totally different. Bass is outstanding (from a guy who bumps all his EQ setting to full bass whenever possible) I'm hearing nuances in songs like never before! Wish I had bought more!

Piece of junk; Mine are already broken; pulling on the right ear piece's cable makes the sound cut out.

Not batteries--magnets for keeping the box shut. The magnets from mine are already holding up pictures on my file cabinet. Possibly worth more than the 'buds.

Got mine. As someone who has sampled many different types of earbuds in my search for ones I'm really satisfied with, I was surprised by how good these sound for the cost. I found the midrange a little lacking, but they're fairly clear on the higher end and have decent bass.

With any earbuds, if they're not blocking out external sounds well enough, you are not going to hear enough bass. Earbuds are meant to seal your ear and isolate you from outside noises. If they don't fit your ears well, you're not going to hear them properly.

Mine arrived in decent shape, except that on my Devo pair, one of the rubber buds was torn. Fail.

Just in case you're not kidding (as I suspect you are): the 'batteries' are actually neodymium magnets, and fairly high grade ones at that. They are part of the packaging, to make that front flap close with an agreeable snap.

I came here just to alert people not to throw those away, they are great to have. Just keep these away from the small kiddies, since two magnets swallowed at different times will attract each other and then it's surgery time.

The earbuds themselves may not be the greatest, but they are certainly better than the built-in speakers on my damned Sony Dash--if I fall asleep and ruin a pair, no real money is lost. I would feel real bad if I tore my Sennheisers apart, so a sacrificial pair of these is fine.

Elvis, Devo, and Jimi stayed out on tour a bit longer than I thought they would. They finally arrived today 26 JULY. But they had a great tour. They did 2 nights in Dallas, 2 nights in Chino, then 2 nights in LA. They headed up north for a 5 day gig in Seattle then did an Andy OMGOMGOMGPONIESOMG PWNIES getting lost in Portland for 5 days before finding their way onto my porch with all my friends BAG O Craps.

Wait Andy OMGOMGOMGPONIESOMG PWNIES just passed out next to the fence and never made it to the front porch.

They sound great, fit great, but could use a cord longer than 1.2 meters.

I'm pretty ticked off. I didn't even get a chance to use this, since the cord broke into three pieces as I was taking it out of the box. I literally gave it a little tug to untangle it, and the wires popped out. What a P.O.S. And they want me to give them $6.95 for S/H (on top of what I would pay to return it) to get a replacement? B.S.

So there's a few bucks down the drain. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Mine arrived in perfect shape, though it's sad to see so many people that got torn or otherwise broken buds. They don't sound that great but I mostly wear them at work so I don't destroy my good ones. Plenty of headphone killers in a kitchen.

But hey, it's been said before, for the price who really cares about the quality, they still make sounds. Even if it isn't always the sounds you want! :3

Hmm, okay; it had occurred to me that they might not be shoved far enough into my ear canals, but I still had no luck. I'll give them another try, see what happens...

It looks like the package was returned by USPS due to an insufficient address. A full refund was issued after it made made it back and processed through.

Got these buds on the 23rd. Pretty good, I think better than any stock apple ear buds. EVERYONE should try the second rubber pieces. Yes they are a pain to get on, but they really help in isolating the outside sound. Bass was a little more than I expected and highs are good, mids are lacking, but all I want these for is studying and the gym.

My advice is to turn them inside out then put them over the little speaker, otherwise it is quite impossible and you might tear it.

Good woot, I will do it again next time.

(Oh one of my buds fell apart, I just taped it back together LOL O.o I got a good laugh out of it, hope you do too. They're 99cent geez!)

My first pair fell apart, but I just taped it back together lol still worked fine. But then from wrapping my earbuds around my mp3 player, it damaged the connection to 1/8" audio jack so now I only get partial audio. Scrapping those ones.

Word of advice, don't wrap these around your mp3 player, they seem somewhat delicate. Besides that audio isn't great, but it is great for the price

I bought 2 pairs and I think the sound is ok and I love how they block out background noise fairly well, but one of mine has developed a loose wire. If I shove it back up into the earpiece it usually works, but its disappointing this issue developed so quickly. I searched online and found a lot of places selling these closer to $15/pair, I'm glad I didn't pay THAT much. I'll bring my other set to work and hopefully they'll last longer before develop any issues

This. I'm thinking either the sound is weaker in one ear in the pair I've reserved for my desk (the purple ones, in case you all wondered), or quite possibly I need to get my hearing checked.

Maybe both.

But y'know what? For the price, I'm pretty happy to have earbuds for my desk, my backpack, and my purse w/o having to worry about the whole "well crap I can't listen to music because I left my earbuds at home", which was a very likely problem in my world.

Not hatin' in the slightest.

I'm just hanging out, really.
