If you scroll through the photos, you can see that each artist has their own design of headphones. I'm guessing you get to choose which one you want when you order. Wouldn't want to leave that to chance...

Actually, the description claims they come with two ear pieces. The problem with my skullcandys was always the little ear pieces ripping or getting lost.

A little digging and some stray edge-of-the-page stuff on Google searches suggests that these are made by Victory Multimedia, the same people who make, or at least re-brand out of China, the MEElectronics line of inexpensive earbuds (aka in-ear monitors, or IEM). Those are decently well thought of in the cheap-IEM space.

Also, I did dig this review up: How come we don't get the Lil Wayne ones??

We get the surplus (ie. the ones they made too many of).

camelcamelcamel shows highest price on Amazon was %10.79, lowest 9.70 for Lil Wayne Section 8 but you'd have to do each artist individually to see each price high/low.

Shipping is $5 no matter how many you buy so buy 3 at this price. You are limited to 3 items per account so you can't buy 5. If you use 2 accounts you'll pay the $5 for each order.

Heck ya I'm in for 3, I bought these same style of Phillips about 3 years ago I still have them and they work great on those long overseas flights. Pop em in and nitey nite. they sound great. As far as sizing.g the other rubber cups are for larger or smaller ear canals. Trust me these go for more than .99 at the big blue box.

How are the logos placed on the earbuds? Is it printed or a sticker that could be removed? If printed, could it easily be scratched off? I like the color of a few but not the logo.

>>>Frequency: 20-20,000 Hz<<<<

this alone makes me pass, but for .99c I knew that.

I've spent $14 on earbuds and there was no base in them.

You want good bass, you want at 12hz or better.

I have these: http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665370693#specifications

They're the only brand I can find with these type of covers. I don't like the round buds that you push in, every sound in my body is echoed and I can hear my blood going thru my veins. ;)

I've had some serious issues with a number of these. Although they rocked at first, a few died way too early. (For some reason, though the right side of my Def Leppard one still works.)

Even weirder, one set (Elvis) swelled up to be almost unrecognizable.

Devo and Kiss are mostly unchanged from when I first tried them, for better or for worse.

quality posts: 2 Private Messages hautedawg

I must laugh. For 99 cents, you are trying to compare these to "cans" in studios. Skull candy costs at least 5 times as much, as much as 10 times as much, and while yes, they do tend to fit a little better, these little rascals are great for general use.

You get a 99 cent headphone set. The cord is a tad short (in my opinion), but for 99cents, it's fine....

Sorry if I was a bit rough, I have had a hard morning.

Similarly if you purchase a few pair of headphones every time they appear on Woot! You will eventually find a set worth keeping.

Why were you running through the airport? Had you just stolen these fine, overpriced Run DMC buds and Johnny Law was after you, or were you late for your Delta flight? Or perhaps your name is DMC and you were simply taking the directive from buds themselves, "RUN, DMC!"...Only to find they pop out. Sad story, no matter how you tell it.

I don't see why anyone would get less than 3 of these. Ray Elvis and Kiss for the win! The fact that I lose/break ear buds quite often and that 3 of these are half price of one pair from anywhere else = no brainer!

N43 Spud buds

IMO Devo will likely sell out early. Not just because their fan base is necessarily any larger here than the other artists - although the number of pro-Devo comments in this thread may contradict me. I think it will mainly be because of the eight choices their logo is the least obtrusive. No way would I want KISS or Jim Morrison's head or Shakira and her "fro" staring at people from my ear holes. Others looking for inexpensive ear buds WITHOUT a stupid logo will probably flock to the Devo blue powerdome buds.

From my own personal perspective, the only other one that looked good to me was The Who, but the teal cord was a deal killer.

Besides, Devo's newest album is really very good. Watch us work it:
