Woot has been pretty predictable with woot-offs about every 4 weeks for most of the year, but they obviously break the pattern occasionally (by the way, has anyone noticed that some of the anniversary items are still purchasable? I still might buy the surge protector, for example). The next thing you know, they won't be offering the bag during the afternoon. Hmmmmm....

I've already satisfied my Bundle of Crops for this month, so I probably won't follow this Woot Off very closely. I really want some more monkeys, though. In my Bundle of Crops from last Woot Off I got a bunch of different capes and they need a home.

Just a late post in case we see more of these.

I got two (I need and install a lot of home networking equipment). I've added one to my home network to test and I think it is awesome.

Not only does it allow setting up a NAS (Network Attached Storage) server that allows you to save and share files, but it works as an FTP server. Better still, it includes a Torrent client, which lets me download, share and host torrent files without committing a computer. I have several Linux distributions that I seed 24/7. Plus it can stream shared media. Woo Woo!

Setup options are complete. Virtually any consumer router function is included, including WiFi power settings from 25% to full power. Plus the host O/S is a Linux variant (Tiny Linux I believe) which lets you load other router firmware or tweak the source code if you are into hacking.

Looking forward to the next time this shows up and I'll snag three more.

WOOT!

This has been an excellent router. I'm a fairly technical user. The VPN passthrough is automatic, you just have to setup the NAT to send to the right machine. The online services for displaying pictures are gone, but I'd probably keep it on the Stats page almost all of the time anyway so I could watch my network and Internet throughput. Cloning the mac address works well. The QoS seems a little unsophisticated, and I think only imposes a top limit per port. After a few months of use, it's been the best router I've used yet.
