Poll: Upcoming movie you're most interested in?
  • 14.2% - Conan remake. I mean... it's a Conan remake. 113
  • 11.4% - Adventures of Tintin! Moffat, Jackson and Spielberg? Come on! 91
  • 23.4% - Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I think they got it figured out. 187
  • 28.8% - The Muppets! It'll be nice to have them back. 230
  • 2.1% - The Serge Gainsbourg bio pic. And it's about time, right? Right? Anybody? 17
  • 20.1% - Some other movie you just didn't have room to mention. It's okay. I'll put it in the comments below. 160

Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

The new Planet of the Apes movie looks awful. Too cgi'd out.

Gonna have to go with John Carter. It only took about a hundred years for it to be made...

I feel sorry for anyone who wants to see the Tintin movie. They must not've seen the preview or read the comics.

I'm for the non-option "none". I see about one movie every two years in the theater (except for special returns of really great films that must be shown theatrically). Otherwise, I just wait for a DVD from Netflix or Blockbuster, or (rarely) watch it through some online service.

Books are where it's at, especially now that you can carry around your entire library (almost) in your phone or tablet.

ever hear of Shark Night? It's by the same director that made the movie "Snakes On A Plane". David R. Ellis. It should be out soon.

Blue Velvet remake, maybe I can understand the remake.

The Hobbit or the Avengers.

I'm not too interested in Conan, but I'll probably watch it for Momoa. The teaser I saw for Tintin was... embarrassing. No saving that one I think. Rise of the Planet of the Apes looks like they didn't even try with the CG. I'll go see Muppets, but I'm not biting my nails in anticipation for it. I have little interest in the Serge Gainsbourg biopic.

Honestly, I can't think of a movie coming out this year I'm so excited about I intend to see it in theaters. Maybe I just don't pay enough attention though...

WHY can I tell it's men that gave the choices??
The Help (I hope) will be a great movie.
It's adapted from a book guys. It's a thing with pages and words on it.

The Help. The book was great. I have family in Jackson who were living there during the era the book is set in. One is even mentioned in the book, which was way too neat. But no, they didn't live in the social circles described in The Help (they had to work for a living and couldn't afford "the help").

Is there anything that isn't a cartoon or a live action cartoon?

Maybe "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo", just to compare with the Swedish original. (I can't believe Rooney Mara as Lizbeth.)

Or "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" with Gary Oldman as Smiley.

(Yes, ddashby, they are both from books)

Does it count as upcoming if it will probably be made within the next 5 years?

That's already out, in fact you can watch it on Netflix. I made it about 45 seconds into it before I gave up.
