Heh. I'm not sure if you got the "full update" or not...

But, I've had a few weird days with the meds I have to take now. I've started having really good days where I actually feel incredibly better than I have for almost a year. But then I also suddenly will have a swing and have numerous days where I feel pretty terrible.

Yes Orc's step-father passed away last month. Orc's mom has been dealing with lots of paperwork and associated stuff. She's supposed to be taking it easy, her heart is weakened and will take several months to heal. She did call a few days ago and I think her sister is still staying with her for a bit.

When I read back you said you were going for test to see if it was a pituitary tumor. I didn't see any postings after that to confirm whether it was or not. Hopefully each week that goes by you start to feel better and better. Still sending lots of good wishes your way.

KtC: I feel for her. Been there, done that...paperwork is just so annoying at times especially when you're either mentally and physically not up to it.

Thanks. Yeah...it's a really weird situation that had multiple experts of endocrinology used for consulting, but the conclusion was that the tumor was the diagnosis. Blood tests will confirm if the meds are working and confirm that the diagnosis is correct, but yeah. It's fun times. The meds aren't too terrible, I just have the "fun" ups and downs to deal with for a while while my body adjusts.

Thanks. Me too. Good days feel amazing. It's sad how I forgot how it was to actually feel good. I think a lot of it is the thyroid stuff getting worked out honestly. But I'll take whatever I can to start feeling better at this point.

Thanks for the good update. Orc is looking into getting us some insurance hopefully today. He's in HR and introduction meetings all day. Then I'll be looking for a second opinion on the hole in my abdomen.

I must have somehow missed reading that he has a new job. Is it in the area or not local? Only asking because I saw you mentioned on PWA that you may be moving to where you'd have a house and ground..place where family wants you, you said. Is that about his new job?

No, job is local. It is at the other University. We have two. There is a state line between them. So he has to cross the state line. He has a very nice office though. His desk is next to a large window that looks down onto a park. Very rare for IT work. He will be programming for the first time since he was a sophomore in college, that's interesting to me. He is using the language I learned a few years ago, so I have no doubt he will do fine. It does include insurance, which I believe he gets the paperwork for today. Since that state is a bit more regulated I believe there are greater options for the healthcare than there were at the university he worked at before.

Our family wants us to move in next door to my parents. My grandma currently owns the house and acreage. The plan is that sometime in the next 5 - 10 years the house and land would become ours. My sister would inherit the investments and we would inherit the house and land. My grandma, if she is still with us will move into the MIL pad at my parent's house or into care if it's needed. Since we don't actually have a house of our own, this would be a huge step up for the family. There is even a pretty intriguing school that runs through high school that the house currently sits within the zone for. Unfortunately, jobs and driving are a real issue down there - leaving your house almost always guarantees at least an hour commute. And recycling is all but non-existent. It would be a drastic lifestyle change. Oh and no public transit at all. It's down the road, but on our minds. If we turn it down, the property will be sold and still given to us, but my parents would rather we move in. They worry about what kind of neighbors they'd get otherwise

Wow, nice offer by the family, but a big decision for you to make. At least you have time to ponder it and consider all options.

Yup! It's a part-time salary job. It's a bit unique, but gives him the flexibility to do stuff with the kids that we want. We are good at living with little so the lack of more income is ok for now. Besides it all gets eaten up by daycare anyway.

We are thinking about the house, it's in the back of our mind.
