By typing Last Post you are playing Last Post, it's not a real last post unless you claim it as such.
A Long Time Ago
On a woot, significantly different, but not that removed from the one we are on now, there was a wooter, he went around to old threads and claimed the Last Post. Then before the ebw (I believe - because I am not that old of a wooter) when everything happened in the product threads, the Last Post became the thing to have. When the ebw spawned from the dark ether or cyberspace, the game garnered it's own thread dedicated to the continuation of this wonderful, post count generating, mindless game of skill, luck, and silliness. The words Last Post or letters LP are required for the game. That and the request that each top post has a top pic are the only firm rules in the game. It is considered bad manners to post after yourself, unless you are answering a question. Also spamming the LP thread with LPs can get you in trouble, so it's just good to let someone else have a turn unless we are down below the half page mark, then a bump is totally in order!
At one time there were two last post threads running simultaneously and the battle for last post not only had fingers flying, but also required a relevant picture on each post!!! Talk about Google image bombs! - Google Image, that was a fun game, anyone remember that one?
Last Post is also played in other threads, but only as the page reaches 99 or 100. Getting several players trying hard brings a real sense of victory to the winner. You never forget your first last post! Oh and the winner here starts the new thread, so Post early, post often, but always Post LAST!
