Finally got my shipping info. The TV is being shipped from New Mexico. The weather must have been bad there also.

Got my TV today. Thing is filthy... looks like someone had it uncovered while painting, as there are small dots all over the stand and the back of the set. Remote has crud all over it as well. Definitely my last refurbished product order from Woot. ( I realize this is out of their hands, but I refuse to spend money on a product that comes from the manufacturer in that condition. Refurbed or not)

So, I got this tv today and hooked it up in a BR. No cable to it yet, just an old known-good DVD player. The picture settings show a very sharp picture. The picture that comes through the DVD player is very grainy. Like an old vcr tape or something. I called Phillips and they ran through some scenarios to no avail. They say I need to plug an HD DVD player into the tv. Is this what other buyers of this tv have found to be true?

Exactly the same with me. I can't manage to fix the aspect ratio either

Recieved the TV today connected it and it's got a huge crack thru the screen. I'm very annoyed because this is just going to be a hassle.

It sounds like it was damaged in transit. Call FedEx to initiate a damage call tag and email us the number at service@woot.com. We can help you out the rest of the way.

Is there anyone that at least had an average experience? I bought this for my daughter but from the comments here I feel like I should 'round' file it when it arrives to save me time and embarrassment for making such a horrible purchase. Any good news to report guys?

Like my father always taught me, "No good deed goes unpunished".... :-(

Every 4-5 years I try someone besides Costco or Fry's on the hope that some other company out there selling electronics is at least trying to be something great, and every time I end up greatly disappointed.

Let's hope Woot is even reading these posts and cares about what they are selling and building (their brand) and somehow create a positive out of this mess by showing the industry they care about the customer and more importantly their brand integrity. Or I may finally discover the golden unicorn, the odds either are pretty much equal given what I read here.

If it arrives in the same poor quality and condition that others have chronicled here, I think I will give my daughter the the 32" 1080P Edge Lit LED Toshiba (Which is incredible- 6 HDMI- if you want a no brainer) from my my bedroom so I can be constantly reminded by my wife what an poooony I am for trying to support a new company again and pay it forward just because someone gave me a chance at one time. LOL

Sincerely,

Unicorn Breeder :-)

I suspect you work for woot but just a FYI this was shipped via UPS not FEDEX.

Just to add I don't intend to do this. No damage to the box which means UPS will hold onto the TV for 4 weeks then tell me it wasn't there issue. Then I would start the actual process.

Well, this really stinks. Just got my tv today, hooked it up, and the blasted thing will not stay ON. I have another of these TV's that I have had for over a year now and it works great. WOOT may not be directly responsible for mine and all the other wooters that have defective tv's, but maybe they better make sure that their vendors are sending us good mechandise. What a pain.

Now I'm getting worried. My TV is getting here tomorrow, will it even work? This is my first "big ticket" woot and I really don't like the experience. I'll update when it gets here.

A note to qwikk and others who are having problems with aspect ratio, if you press the Format button on the top left of the remote, it will let you change it. Not sure why it's not under the Picture Settings like in most TVs.

Mine would not stay turned on, cut off immediately. I did call the number above at someone at Phillips answered without much hold time. They are reissuing the warrantly (originally from April 2010) and either sending me a new TV or paying for the service to get it fixed locally. I will know once they verify my Woot receipt screen shot. This is a hassle, but at least Phillips was able to correct the problem fairly quickly. I'll post an update soon!

Phew! Mine works just fine as far as I can tell. It's in good condition, the TV was clean when it arrived, and both antenna and Xbox work. All in all, a good purchase. Thanks, woot!

Does anyone have the fax number for Phillips? My tv was also damaged when I got it and will not work. I need to fax them my Woot receipt.

This is the first time I've ever bought anything from Woot and will very likely be the last thing I buy.

Got mine today. No problems so far, it turns on and stays on, etc. Except... there is no remote? The box only had the TV and some styrofoam. I emptied it out and searched. No remote, no manual, no papers of any kind, no screws or bolts. There was absolutely nothing else in the box besides the TV. What do I do now? I can't use it without a remote since there's no way to get to most of the settings.

You may want to look for a universal remote. I have one of the logitech harmony models. It connects to your computer and using the software you enter your TV information.

On a side note I am still awaiting a response from Phillips after e-mailing my receipt to them last Thursday.

Got the TV...hole ripped in side of box. Got it all set up and was watching TV just fine. Then I hit the clicker to begin watching football...and all that happened was the 'Philips' logo appeared for a few seconds, then the TV went dark. Happened over and over again. Checked all my connections...nothing. What a pain in the butt to send back and wait for the next one to come in. Ticked off.

well I finally got mine yesterday (Seemed like forever even though I gave Woot the benefit of the doubt on the shipping date, which was wrong afterall), was a little nervous after reading posts here. Opened the box and the styrofoam was broken so I was more nervous. Took it out, plugged it right in and turned it on, went through the picture setup steps and it worked right away. So far no problems but didn't use it much. good luck to those with issues!

I do have a universal remote as it happens, but it has to be programmed - and to program it you need the original remote from the device.

I know I could go buy another universal that doesn't require programming, but I purchased this TV from woot expecting to receive what I paid for. I shouldn't have to go out and spend more money on a new universal remote when the description of the item I've already bought stated that there was a remote included. I'm just not sure whom to contact about it... woot or Philips? I assume the latter, but what do I tell them? Will they just send me a remote on the basis of my claiming it wasn't in the box? And was there supposed to be anything else in there that I need (a manual perhaps)?

Just stopping in to update you guys.. My tv is working perfectly. It did cut on by itself the other day. I don't know what that was about.. but other than that its great.. no problems, no screen issues.. nothing.. I'm happy so far..

I got 3 of them for use at a large football tailgate. First week they worked fine. Very grainy picture, but outside it doesn't really matter.

Second game, everything was working fine. After about 6 hours of them being on, two of them crapped out. Try to power them back on and the Phillips screen comes up, followed by black and they power themselves off.

What a waste of time and money.

I have had my tv for about three weeks now. Initially everything was great. The box was not damaged and the tv appeared cosmetically clean. This tv seemed to be working ok until yesterday.... I came home and powered it on with the remote (Phillips had sucky remote controls but I expected the OMGOMGOMGPONIESOMG PONIES! remote design) the white power light on the tv illuminated as if the tv was going to turn on but instead it faded out and the tv never turned on. At first I thought maybe I hit the remote button twice and accidentally turned it off. However, I carefully tried again and ditto same problem. On the third attempt it worked and remained on.

So today I came home and powered on the tv again with the remote and ditto same problem. On the third attempt whala it worked and turned on! So my set appears to have the Phillips flu like the other unfortunate wooters have posted.

I plan to call Phillips and report my problems. With a 90 day warranty I dont want to wait and gamble that the issue will heal itself. Bound to get worse IMO!

Called Phillips phone number and the rep informed me that my tv possibly needs a software update. To bad Woot did not include a jumpdrive with my tv order because I now I have to pretend to be a tv tech.... Here is the link to the software update. You have to download the file to a jumpdrive and then install the new driver on your tv.
