My email from Woot says a label was created but UPS says that they do not have any shipping data as to where it is going, who it is coming from, or what they are even shipping. The TV has not even been dropped off at UPS nor have they requested UPS to come pick it up.
So here is the timeline of promises issued to the customer and broken :
August 18th: Woot receives order and bills my credit card on the 19th for full amount before even receiving shipping information (which is against Visa Regulations I am told by my CC issuer by the way). In return for taking my money they send me a promise that order will be shipped within 5 business days.
August 25th (The fifth Business Day after order): I receive a tracking number from Woot showing me that the the order has shipped. I click on it and connect to UPS only to find out that it is a bogus tracking number created without any shipping information (anyone can do this by the way and it costs the UPS shipper nothing, it just disappears in the system if nothing is delivered to UPS within 20 days).
August 28th (the 10th calendar day and 7th business day): Still nothing delivered to the shipper showing any package of any size to be picked up or delivered for the tracking number given me.
Woot: You lied, pure and simple, black and white. It did not ship by the 5th business day. You breached your agreement after taking the full purchase price on my credit card long before any intent to ship. So tell me, how are you going to make this right?
While your pride and enthusiasm are wonderful Woot, your promises and your reputation (aka BRAND) should mean much more to you. If you can't even control the things that are 100% under your control (taking peoples money in return for a promise to perform). Please earn my trust from now on please, you lost the right to ask for it for a while. You did not just sell me a TV for $239.00, you also gave away your companies most valuable asset for free- Integrity and Client Trust.
I am very dismayed by your actions and the the horrible way you tried to hide them by issuing bogus shipping docs. You promised shipment, not an empty bogus shipping doc that does not even state who the shipper is.
I have a suggestion: Do what you say, say what you do. Easy to remember and earns the respect, admiration, and trust of all including your enemies.
