Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Drummer at heart, like Dave Grohl. But I try to play various instruments--not very well necessarily, but I do enjoy dabbling.

Gotta be the smooth and sexy saxophone!

Saxamaphone. A little eccentric, but a load of soul.

Close second is a cello, still a load of soul but cello players don't stand up to play the national anthem.

Trombone. Mostly cause its the only instrument I can play. Also I know a bunch of dirty puns regarding trombones from middle school.

The "flutaphone"-these red and white plastic flute-ish things we "played" in Catholic grammar school. I have never learned so little about music or laughed so hard! Oh, those were the days...

(I like being overly literal. And yes, I do go around beatboxing all the time.)

I don't know if it counts as an instrument exactly but it does produce music: a MIDI. Not big, not noisy, not complex, kind of annoying at times, but under the right circumstances makes some really catchy tunes!

I suppose it counts as "something whimsical," but I had to give the oboe its own mention. It's petite and quirky, and not many people like it, but it has its own beauty. Also takes forever to perfect, whether it's crafting the reed that will last you two days before it breaks, or mastering the ability to play it over a lifetime. Do these things describe me? Maybe just the first three.

A harp guitar.

(Yeah, it's a real instrument. Google it.)

Difficult to learn at first, but fun and full of surprises when you do!

Bagpipes, specifically a German dudelsack, not the typical Scottish Great Highland Bagpipe or Irish uilleann pipes. See a video or two for examples, plus fantastic bagpipe music.
