Golf balls really"...........

The description fits the one given by LostGolfBalls.com for their AAA-rated offerings:

AAA/3rd Quality
Good Condition - These used golf balls may have slight scuffs and blemishes. There may be minor discoloration and some of the print may smudge. Higher grade x-outs and practice models may be included. No cuts are included. These golf balls will include player markings, team and corporate logos.

Actually, even if you are a good golfer, these can be a great deal. I had a shag bag with 9 dozen found pro v 1s that I used for practice.

So if you have access to a good practice area, they're awesome for it.

Also, practice balls just have some blemish that does not affect performance, so I'm not sure why people are so against them...you can technically even use them in competitive play.

This HAS to be the worst woot to date... it has to be!

I guess I'm not inviting iamjakex to tee time...

The best woot ever was the Daiwa golf bags... :-) Hope I spelled that right.

I just picked my dad up from a week long palm springs golf outing....

Impeccable timing Woot! I was running low on golf balls and didn't want to spend a small fortune on a couple of boxes. These will be great for those work outings. For this price I won't care when I lose some to the water on course.

Golf testicles? Since when do golf spheres have testicles, and so many? Is that why the suckers have all those dimples, because those are what's left after some cruel people harvested all their testicles?

Wife says, "I know what you're thinking. "Did she throw thirty six balls or only thirty one?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as these are premium golf balls, the most powerful balls in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"

I think this is an experiment in market research on Woot's part. If they can make their estimated numbers on these golf balls, who is to say what is next? In the coming weeks we might see 36 used bowling balls, or 36 used hockey pucks? Anyone up for 36 used shot puts?

As a beer-league hockey player, I would take 36 used pucks in a heartbeat!

For a duffer like me, "recycled" golf balls are a good option imo. Half the time, I go looking for my ball out in the rough and end up playing with one of the other balls I find since I can't find mine.

That said, this is only a middling deal at best. As mentioned previously, the description matches what www.lostgolfballs.com calls AAA grade (there are two grades nicer, AAAA and AAAAA). That's fine: you know what you're getting and the balls will play practically new for duffers like me (my new balls get like this within a few holes).

However, the prices are probably only a real deal on the Titleist balls. Checking out lostgolfballs.com, the price here looks to be slightly better than LGB's bulk (50-pack) price on NXTs and fairly better than their per-dozen price. With the Nikes, it's hard to know which ones you're getting, but LGB's per-dozen price on some of the Nike Ones is better than this price. The Bridgestone bulk price is better on LGB. And for the same price, you get 50 of the Taylormade balls at LGB.

Shipping is the only thing that makes this a potential deal, but on LGB you get tons more options for what balls you want, you can wait for one of their sales, and in my opinion you don't have to worry about missing this deal.

Certainly their better balls, not necessarily the "best" depending on the feel and features you want.

Seriously??
Did they send the employees out with waders on to retrieve golf balls from the water hazards like the cheap old men near my folks' retirement village in FL?
Scratched? Discolored (read: Sat in the mud.)?
PASS! PASS! PASS!

People on here who are comparing the price of these golf balls to "the regular price" are definitely NOT golfers.
My old 2000 Suburban had 280,000 miles on it when I sold it. Considering that a new one costs well over $40,000, the old one is SUCH a better deal. If I could just go find it and buy it back.
After all, they're both say "Suburban" on them......

Nice logic!!!!

I bought 72 of them.....this is a great buy, if they are decent condition. I just wish Woot would have stated the condition better, and I really hope these are not 90% X-outs, but I've never seen bridgestone sell X-Outs

My main problem is with the discoloration that may come with the golf balls. I know that if the balls sit long enough in the water hazards and you fish them out, they will look a bit discorlored. Otherwise they only get that way if they are really really old balls.

For the most part though, when I get used, good condition golf balls that have corporate markings and logos, the balls have been used at charity events or stuff like that. A lot of the balls look like they have been hit once or twice and then recollected after the event to sell. To the folks like some of us, myself included, who may end up losing enough balls after a few rounds to desire some more.

So I am sitting on the fence on this one, really wish there were some more pictures to go with this deal. Seems like a good enough deal, but I just don't want to get too many balls that have been sitting in the water long or just too plain old.

Bummer. While I was reading your comments, the Bridgestones were sold out. Yeah, youse guys were just distracting me.

On the other hand, I hooked a $2 Bridgestone into the woods last week. My buddy found 10 golf balls while I looked in vain for mine, and cackled away with his par while I took a seven.

I do fill a five gallon bucket every summer with found balls that are too grungy to use. I will pour them all in my buddy's car some day when he's not looking.

Yeah, they're used, and probably a little too beat up. But I can smack these into the scrub oak just as easily as some new Pro V1's, so as long as they're round, it's all good.

Sorry you are upset but we have always deleted posts in product forums that do not add to the discussion of the product. You comment did not do so.

Now, that said, when you have a product like this, there's going to be innuendo and humorous posts that we'll keep because... well, come on, they're balls....

Hope that helps.

For a total hacker, are these balls (not including the unavailable Bridgestones) better than Maxfli Noodles, which are $46 total for 100 in an onion bag on Overstock? The quality of those recycled balls has gotten positive reviews on their site but if the ball is considerably worse for a hacker I might get 3 of these for $50 instead. Any ideas?

AHHH Come on! Who bought all the Bridgestones?

lparsons42

quality posts: 4 Private Messages lparsons42

It is worth asking where these balls are coming from. There is a growing industry of people entering golf courses illegally (usually after hours) to harvest balls from water hazards and sell. While that provides for cheap balls on the second hand market it drives up the cost of playing on the courses because it denies that income source to the course owners.

Thankfully as climate change extends the range of the alligator, more of the thieves are being eaten.
