I can't use a square iPod. Too much symmetry.

$134.54 or $134.95 on Amazon depending on color.

Minus Woot! shipping thats $130 vs. $120

These are great though! I dropped $160 on a 16gb and the clip is super convenient (Older Amazon sale). Display goes to sleep after a few seconds and reactivates only after you touch the main button. This prevents accidentally skipping to the next song, which was a problem on my last Ipod.

edit: I originally called Woot!'s Ipod a refurb, it is actually in "New" condition.

Oddly enough I got the section 8 headphones (got 3 pair) from woot a few month or two ago and they work real well.

One odd observation and a weird question.

It's quoted operating temperature range of 0 - 45 degrees celcius is included in it's nonoperating temperature range of -20 - 40 degrees celcius.

My other question is what happens when you take it above 10,000 feet in altitude?

Does this iPod come equipped with any games as addictive as Klondike (that comes with the 4th Generation)? I've spent hundreds of hours lying in bed playing that game and listening to audiobooks.

I like the look, and the interface, but I don't want to install iTunes. Plus I prefer iAudio/Cowon, the interface is a bit worse, but the sound quality is awesome.

If you consider a pedometer a game then yes, if not then no. I like my older ipod nanno better. If you are willing to give up movies, games, and other apps for a smaller ipod, get this one. If you want more features, go with the previous gen nano. That one had a camera, games, and could play movies.

I believe it has to do with cooling of the electronics. The higher your altitude the thinner the air, once the air gets too thin the device might overheat. The iPod is rated to work properly at those temperatures at 10,000. I imagine the temperature range changes significantly at higher altitudes.

The highest I've been that I'm aware of is around 12,000ft on Humphrey's Peak near Flagstaff, AZ. I've also flown un-pressurized aircraft around 12,000. My iPhone survived both just fine! Jet aircraft are kept pressurized around 8,000ft equivalent.
