Different set, only the tomahawk is the same. Also, 2 reviews does not a sufficient sample size make.

I got my friend to get this, and if you think 45 is a good price (I figure it's decent), I can at least say the quality of the tools is good. We put them through a very rough weekend without anything becoming loose which to me is a god thing.

Wrong 3 piece set you are looking at on Amazon. The set on Amazon you see has another knife instead of the shovel, and does not come with the nylong sheiths I do not believe. Here is the link to the set on amazon:

I use my e-tool all the time so I know it's usefull but what what makes this better then the $5 one at walmart or th $10 one at a surplus store?

When this was sold as a normal woot, several people complained about quality problems. Specifically, the shaft bends.

Blade/saw faces into your hand inside the handle? Not a fan, regardless of how good the lock is. I've seen similar tools where the blade inside the handle faces forward so that if it were to slip, you just get the back of the blade in your hand (the only downside to this setup is that you have to turn the knife around when you switch, so the handle has to be molded to fit in your hand both ways).
I could just imagine using the knife aggressively and getting that saw in the palm. Ouch.

I picked up one here off of Woot about a year ago. It's great...it replaced my 15 year old Leatherman on my belt.

I also grabbed a SOG knife in the last Woot-Off...I love it, but my wife has now banned me from buying other pointy objects...

This is made for the people who bought an SUV because they go to the snow once a year or they once went on a dirt road. You're not going to use this while backpacking. If you're car camping and think you're going to need this stuff, go out to the garden shed and get what you already have. SOG is becoming a company that caters to people with more money than brains.

Camping gear... in September? They might have gone faster a few months ago, when people were going on summer vacation.
