Why, Gods of Woot, are there like 8 Vizio 32" TV's and apparently hundreds of these gol-darn caterpillar nose- pickin' vacuums? Why Woot Gods Why??

I would love to buy this but have gotten burned by my last 2 Woot refurbs. One was a Shark vacuum, and it arrived dirty and didn't turn on. Clearly they hadn't done a thing to even pretend to refurbish it! Not sure whether that is on Woot or on Shark?

Dyson Rocks! I Got this exact model on Woot as a refurb about 5 years ago; I have used it hundreds of times on both carpets and wood floors and it still runs like new. Amazing product and a great deal. Mine came with an air driven brush which I find useful. I bought a low profile floor tool for getting under couches etc. on ebay for $20. Highly recommended if you are picky about clean.

Just because she doesn't live with you doesn't mean she shouldn't clean your home. If no girlfriend at the time exists then your floor should be messy for the one that comes along.
Gives them something to do, ya know?

Dyson's refurbs are excellent. It arrived looking brand new. Ours has sucked through the kid's messes, cat hair, home remodeling projects and everything else we've thrown at it the past 4 years.

So have a look at the review site I posted earlier. That'll tell you if waiting for the the Animal is worthwhile.

(Or just click here for the Animal-vs-All Floors review.)

I find it very strange that 2% of the buyers bought three of these. Who the heck needs 3 vacuums? Creepy.

Woot! Now 100+ woots for me!
That's 87 woots (Including Twelve Bats On Crack!), 12 Sellout.woots, 8 wine.woots and 4 kids.woots, and finally, 2 shirt.woots!

The crevice tool is exceptional. I have the world's cleanest crevice since I bought this. My neighbors all comment on the cleanliness of my crevice, even my doctor noticed! If you have a crusty crevice, the crevice tool alone makes this a good deal.

Resellers, maybe? Also, does anyone know the difference between this and the ball? Would there be a preference for one or the other?

I have this vacuum, and I purchased it from Woot, refurbished, about 3 years ago. I cannot say that I've had any problems with it except that recently I needed to clean the vortex chamber (simply rinse with water) and it's back to working like new.

When I received it except for a couple of scuffs, it appeared brand new.

You must keep up with your maintenance though, like any good machine - I was very fed up with its performance but now that I cleaned it it's working just like new.

It picked up SO MUCH that my old vacuum left behind, even though I had just vacuumed the day before. It's a work horse.

It can be a bit ungainly if you have many stairs - I would suggest getting a hard floor attachment as well to get under furniture a bit better. Otherwise BUY IT NOW! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!! Especially at this price!!

I am guessing those people live in areas where there are a lot of people who have no access to the wonders of the internet, and if their local walmart doesn't have it, they will be receptive to door-to-door salesman's persuasion that this is (not only not refurbished) but a 500+ vacuum that they normally sell for 400, but if you are willing to pay today, you can have it for $350. Viola.

No one needs 3 of these unless they are hawking them.

I have the ball. The only real difference is ease of navigation. The ball is real easy to move around furniture and such.

It totally depends on your vacuuming style. Personally I wouldn't find a ball useful unless you tend to want to do "laps" - similar to how you use a lawnmower on a large tract of land. Instead of going back and forth back and forth you can just go all the way to one wall, turn and come back. Useful if you don't have furniture.

I have this vacuum and I've never been annoyed that it doesn't "turn" like the ball vacuums do.

I bought this a few years ago on Woot. It was a refurb but it looked and performed like it was brand new. I love this machine! I can't imagine how it could be better unless it came with a handsome stud to vacuum for me. If that would be the case, I'ld be in for 3!

Same situation here. I am in for one, after all her birthday is coming up...... but hey I try to do the floors because 1)she hates that and 2) it's the only job she trusts me with.

She has complained about every vacuum ever so it will be interesting to see how this rates for her - great pricing and reviews, I checked the interwebs.

The only difference is the attachments. With this one, you can buy it cheap and get the attachments you want instead of being stuck with a package. I have two cats - one who sheds prolifically - and I have never had an issue using the All-Floors version. And AT THIS PRICE!!! you have lots of room left over for accessories.

My only want for my Dyson has been the hard floor attachment, which I don't believe comes with the Animal anyway. Other than that, BUY IT!

1st, notice that you're comparing the DC 28 and the DC 14.

The difference between Dyson model X and Dyson model X Animal is the color (yellow vs. purple) and the animal version comes with this attachment:

http://www.amazon.com/Dyson-00045-Mini-Turbine-Tool/dp/B00062MT7E/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1316012353&sr=8-9

I have this attachment and really like it. I didn't use it the 1st 6 months or so because I was skeptical that it would be effective. When I got around to trying it in the back seat of my car after my dog had covered it in dog hair, I was impressed.

Yeah but at this price, you can get an awesome vacuum (albiet an older model) and buy the attachment if you want it.
