Then you're not searching in the right places. As I'm sure any post that suggested such tips would be deleted, I can't help, even if I were in possession of said information, and I'm not saying I am.

My wife gave me her old TomTom one a couple years ago, I "upgraded" the software and maps that I found "in the right place". Gave me all kinds of additional features including turn by turn directions, street names and the like. All for FREE!
She uses Garmin now, but I love my TomTom, if this unit is anywhere close, it will be great!

Its open box...meaning used item. Not authr dealer. Doubtful if Tomtom will honor or support the unit especially if the unit was registered already.

The xxl500 w/o tm is fine for $60. The Gps are becoming disposable items anyway. Newer models are less expensive and better. Next year this time, the via 1535tm with voice command should be avail refurb at this price point. Get the free update and that should hold me down til next year.

Thank you for the update. Unfortunately, my biggest motivation to buy this GPS was the Lifetime Updates for Maps and Traffic, so I wish to cancel my order. I did receive the email from Woot Member Services giving that option, however the email doesn't provide me with the directions to cancel. Could you please let me know that? Thanks.

Thanks for updating the description. I bought mine around 6am CST this morning and haven't gotten an e-mail about options :-( I thought I read the description was updated after that. DId I miss the boat?

Thanks!

If you check their description of open box, it means that the box has shelf damage and it was opened by the company to make sure the unit was good. The ones that the sell that are used are marked "open box - like new" which this in not. It is a brand new, never used unit. This company is backed by the BBB and they have a 30 day money back return paying shipping back AND refunding your original shipping.

So we come bringing a change to today's listing for the TomTom XXL 550 5-Inch GPS with IQ Routes & Premium Maps. We made a mistake in the product description and it turns out today's GPS does not come with lifetime maps, lifetime traffic, and the USB Traffic Receiver.

The change was made around 8:15am, which was after you placed your order. We wanted to give you a heads up and we totally understand if you would like to cancel your order due to this change. Please let us know by Tuesday noon CST (09/20) if you would like to cancel your order, otherwise, we'll be processing your order as intended.
Also, if you have already emailed in to cancel your order- please disregard this message.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

I ordered at 5:15am Eastern or 4:15am Central time, but I have checked my e-mail inbox & spam folder which is verified the same as the email address on my Woot account & have not received any e-mails from Woot Member Services giving the option to cancel order & receive a refund. It may be taking a long while for them to send out all the e-mails since when previously Woot sold TomTom 5-inch GPS units on July 17th & on July 28th when Woot sold over 2,000 & over 4,000. Hope we all will eventually receive the same email "mpasquale" received verifying the deadline to cancel being by "Tuesday noon CST (09/20)". I'm checking with my family members to see if they still want these gifts I was going to give them even though the TomTom GPS will not have the 3 features that are no longer part of the purchase.

Many thank-you's to the good Woot Staff for providing the latest status & updates.

Please don't feel that you have to wait for the letter. I'm sorry you haven't gotten it. Not sure what would have happened. Only other thing I can think of us to check your junk/spam fold on your webmail account if you use an email client like Outlook. I found that my provider does some filtering and it's in a junk folder on their site when I log in via the web login.

Either way, if you decide to cancel, do so by Tuesday as mentioned above.

The ad states Price: $70.99
Compare to: $229.00
You Save: $158.01
Condition: Open Box

Not doubting the company's integrity, just pointing out that tomtom may not support the unit.

Just a heads up I asked woot if it comes with the free 30day map update, which they said it does. If tomtom refuses to honor it, woot said they will accept returns.

Appreciate it. My e-mail is on Yahoo so I do not have to use any e-mail clients like Outlook. In what way? Sure most people have smart phones with GPS but depending on your network you can lose signal on your GPS if you're in the mountains or bad weather.

I also find that the maps on these dedicated GPS tend to be better than what is on my iphone.
