BigD wrote:I'm confirming the change on the features - this is not the TM version and does not have lifetime traffic or lifetime maps. Everyone who has ordered this morning will be receiving an email shortly to explain the situation and lay out the options.
If you ordered previous to the change, we will not ship this item until we hear back from you and you confirm that you want us to ship.
What are the options gonna be?

It was a mistake, folks...one that Woot has corrected. They've stated you will get an email with the option to cancel your order IF and only IF you ordered before the description was updated.
Everyone relax...Woot has been around for more than 6 years now and is a trusted source from which to purchase products...even if sometimes the products are OMGOMGOMGPONIESOMG PONIES!. J/K, Woot! We love ya!

Will I honestly need the Lifetime maps for what I use it for?
Truthfully, probably not as long as you are willing to live with the occasional "indirect" routing. I've got a 8 year old GPS that has never had a map upgrade, and I rarely have any issues. Just use common sense and you'll be OK.

purchase a single map update at a later time.
Yeah.. at $79 each. They do have a $99 lifetime, but for $189 you can get a new TM directly from TomTom. If you want maps, this one is not worth the money.
If Joss Whedon and Steven Moffat wrote a story together, nobody would live to the end.

Also, I'm in for one even without the lifetime maps.
The problem is that it took them over 7 hours to correct the problem. Apparently the people that could fix it could not be bothered at night even though they had made a mistake. THAT is a problem.
