Does the camera have a zoom?

Enjoying mine so far. Screen size is nice and it has no problems playing back 720p movies. Battery life is good but I have not seen mine charge to 100% even after leaving it plugged in overnight. Seems to max at 90%. Anyone else having this problem?

Mine has been charging to 100% without any problems. It usually takes a few hours to go from about 20-30% to full.

It actually gives you a notification when charging is complete. There will be a battery icon with "100%" written on it on the status bar where the notification icons are (upper left corner of the screen) which tells you that charging is complete.

Open up the Android Market, hit your Menu button and choose My Apps on the left side. Find Google Maps in the list, select it, and you should see an option to Update.

I'm still getting flickering screen. Anyone else? And, looks like static lines

that run up and down the left side and down the middle and sort of ghost the icons.

Any ideas? Thks!

Sounds as if you've got a defective unit. If there's some way to restore it to factory defaults, I'd try that first, but otherwise, you should probably be contacting Woot's warranty service about a replacement.

I have never seen one of these cell-phone-type cameras have a real zoom (lens that physically moves in and out). It may have a "zoom" function in a menu, but you can do the same thing by just cropping any pictures you take afterward.

Well, this isn't the iPod killer I'd hoped it would be. It's a bit finicky on the bluetooth audio streaming (at least in my car) and a little too big to use as a media player. So, if anyone is interested, I'll sell it for $200 shipped and I'll include a gel case and screen protector that I got from ebay (when it gets here...) I had high hopes for this, but the old ipod touch is still easier to use for what I need.

PM me by clicking on the envelope by my name if you want it. My ebay rating is 100%, as is Heatware, if you want a second rating to go by.

Not using mine as much as I thought I would; I'm willing to part with it for $175 shipped (negotiable).

PM me if interested...

This may be a question asked before on this long thread, but why does battery use stats page show "cell phone radio" using 10% of battery life? Is there a cell phone radio even in this thing? It recommends using airplane mode to turn cell phone radio off. Of course, I have to turn WiFi back on and wind up with a jet icon on the top bar. Other than than, I'm not sure what the difference if or I'm even saving power, since there may not be a cell phone radio in it.

Did you check for the charging complete icon (100% battery notification) right before you unplugged it? Because pretty much, right after you unplug it, the battery level could go down from 100% to 95%. So if you weren't looking closely, you could miss that it was fully charged right before unplugging.

How about a "flash Function"/ will we be able to use other than stock camera apps with the flash or is it just a handy light?

That is possible. I will check next time I charge it overnight. Thanks.

The 95% issue is a well documented Android quirk. Google android charge 95% and you'll find plenty of tips to fix.

My Samsung bluetooth headset (WEP-450) will not pair with this device.

One division of Samsung customer service told me that this device requires a headset that supports profile A2DP 1.2. Another division told me that the required profiles are OPP 1.1 or SPP 1.1.

Which model headsets have been successfully paired with this device?

I'm coming to realize an SD card is required, specifically for app backups. I'd like to avoid paying more than once for apps, should problems arise.

Kies can backup Contacts, Music, Photos, and Videos, but not apps, settings, etc. For Kies to work, it bears repeating (and afterward returning to Mass Storage):
Settings > Wireless and network > USB Settings > Samsung Kies

Kies writes to one single file. I prefer using Windows FreeFileSync to copy all the user directories to/from my PC, allowing more control. Neither Kies nor FreeFileSync will backup or restore the apps, settings, bookmarks etc.. AppMonster, ClockworkMod, MyBackup, and Titanium apparently write to an SD card. So an SD card seems like a requirement, or do you have an alternative?

I've been using app2sd from the market with sucess on my gtablet but haven't tried on the Samsung yet. Might be worth giving it a try.
I have 2 of the Sandisk 32GB MicroSD from the first 1sale a day coming in the next few days. I'll post when I have chance to evaluate.

I've been using mine for about 2 weeks and I LOVE it! I generally use it as a replacement to my laptop when I'm heading to a friends house, due to it's portability. It's small enough that it can be stashed in a pocket, but too big to always keep it there. It's also reasonably fast, the screen is great and the battery life is plenty for how I use it. It's definitely worth the $175 woot charged and I'm glad I picked it up, even if it's capabilities and my Moto Droid are redundant (because I love the larger screen.)

I use titanium backup and it does not write to my sd card. It writes to "/mnt/sdcard" which is actually the internal flash and the actual sd card is "/mnt/sdcard/external_sd". You can also change settings in titanium backup so you can have it backup to whichever location you would like. I haven't used the others you mentioned.

Earlier in the conversation, people were asking about covers we've ordered. I got mine yesterday. I bought it from eBay. It took less than two weeks shipped from Hong Kong.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/280709698921?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

It seems to have gone up in price about $.60. The eBay and Paypal conversions were not the same, but I paid USD the same as the AU$ price listed.

It fits really well. I've put it on and taken it off a couple times.

It has the two extra cut-outs for things not on our version; HDMI on the bottom and I forget what they said was on the other top corner. (In fact, the model in the picture on that page looks just like ours.) A couple of the cut-outs are off by a millimeter or two, most noticeably the headphone jack, but it's still open where it needs to be. Power and volume buttons are covered. I was getting used to how easy it was to hit the power button, now I have to learn again.

This particular case has two different "textures" on the back. Both are smooth but one is slick while the other is, um, not slick. The slick side sticks oddly in some places to the back and looks like there's water or something trapped inside. The sides have an extra texture on them.

I'm still getting used to the raised edges, especially with the side bezel being so thin. But I think I'm sticking with this cover. Recommended.

P.S. I can't remember exactly what this cost so please tell him your asking price.

For what it's worth, this has never been an issue for me. Apps I've bought for my phone have all been downloaded (automatically in some cases) onto my two tablets as well, including SlingPlayer, one of the stingiest of the app publishers. And apps that I've deleted remain "bought," so that I can download them again at any time. I feel like there must be a limit to that, but I haven't found it yet.

I haven't had a problem with it so far. Is it only certain videos or songs, or is it random? It could be that they're file types that aren't supported by the stock media app or a problem with individual media files. You can also find other apps in the marketplace that play music and video (I use the Meridian app). If it plays on other media player apps, it's probably not a problem with your device. Check it out, because a media player device that can't play media isn't much good and you do have the one year warranty from Woot if something is wrong with it.
