I purchased three centon memory sticks before, not one of them lasted more than 1 month before corrupting data. Never again...

I thought all flash drives were water proof? I've sent a few through the washing machine a couple of times while in my pockets, and they worked fine without losing my data...

My first laptop, back in 2005, had a 60 GB hard drive. I'm not sure whether to marvel at technology or feel very, very old.

Either way, this is a kickass deal.

I don't want to know what people are doing with this that it needs to be waterproof.

I don't know if there has ever been a time where I've wished that my USB drive was waterproof... Seems like a weird combination. Like a bulletproof dishwasher.

My Corsair USB stick wasn't advertised as waterproof but it's been through the wash a time or two.

Just don't plan on descending below about 6 feet! Hilarious calling it waterproof, then saying to 1.8M!

This looks really cool... but I have never needed anything less than a 64GB, waterproof usb drive.

Waterproof?

I've washed quite a few "non waterproof" USB sticks and they all still work.

I have several Centon 1GB Sticks that still work. Remember when 1GB was huge? That's when I bought them, probably 5 or 6 years ago. They hold MP3s for my car's head unit and stil kick ass.

If your first notebook was 2005, you are not likely "old".

This deal would be good maybe if there was any information from Woot on speed of the drive and other performance outside of being waterproof, which as mentioned is rather useless.

Hard drives? Dude, we used magnetic audio cassettes to store data. And that was brand new at the time!

Oh, it's a DataStick Sport! I have one on my keychain right now - 16GB.

Expect to lose the cap within days of carry-around use. I expect they will send you a new cap if you ask (I haven't, since it would just get lost again). After a year or so, the rubber jacket is beginning to slip a little on mine.

Speed seems fine to me, but I'm not picky. Just use it for passwords and misc. random files.

You kids today. My TRS-80 Model I was decked out with 48K of RAM. IIRC a floppy held 86K of data. I thought I'd never fill one up.
