Poll: We’re tired of believing the lamestream media. Let’s have a unscientific straw poll of our own! If the election was held today, who would you vote for?
  • 10.2% - Rick Perry 370
  • 11.8% - Mitt Romney 427
  • 3% - Michelle Bachmann 110
  • 40.6% - President Obama 1468
  • 10.8% - WHY ARE YOU IGNORING (fill in the blank in the comments)? 392
  • 23.5% - If those four are my only choices I’m just moving to Australia 850
3617 votes

Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

I'm sorry, but the tea party is who the republicans are catering to right now in order to try to get the Repbulican Nomination for the Presidential race, so I'm not terribly impressed with any of them, or any of their current political statements.

Granted, I'm not totally happy with Obama, but I was 300% less happy with GWB in office. So yeah, I guess my pointless, unimportant vote goes to the one in current office. (Also, the repeal of Don't Ask/Don't Tell wins points with me.)

I normally vote for the Libertarian candidate but will vote Ron Paul if he's on the ballot, as I expect he will be.

Any particular Professor Sean Adams? Google brings up 6 different ones on the first ten results.

Herman Cain! I don't believe we can take 4 more years of empty promises and spending more than Bush! However, the media will tell us who to vote for . . . Obama.

Jon Huntsman - The only republican out there right now who has any brains at all. He believes in science, supported gayrights in Utah, and dropped out of high school to join a rock band. What's not to love?

Not Australia, though. Don't like what's going on with their politics either. Canada, maybe. Switzerland. Greenland.

Dude, Woot, you guys really think this is a good idea? I foresee the poll being changed to "Toilet Paper: Overhang or underhang?" by midday.

Pardon me, would you have any bags of crap?

definitely overhang. The only reason to do underhang is if you have a cat that will unravel the entire roll if it's overhang.

Does anyone actually think the economy is better now than under the bumbling care of GW Bush? Clearly it is not. Just as clear should be the fact that the more government has encroached on the economy, the worse it has become.

If you think government is the answer, and things are only bad because we haven't gone far enough down this road, then you should vote for Obama. Of course, you should also study more about the economies of the USSR, Cuba, China, and Israel.

If you realize that the government (and every corporation) is just made up of people, then you must concede that a small group of people making everyone's decisions is never going to be as effective as a large group of people making their decisions for themselves. In that case, you must decide which candidate will be the most likely to restore to you your inalienable rights to determine for yourself how to live your life.

Consider whether you will have more freedom of choice in the matters of how you earn a living, how you will make medical decisions, what you will eat, and what you will be allowed to buy. One side has perverted the concept of choice to claim that only the rich were able to make these decisions because they had the money to do so. In fact, while the richer did have more options, the poorer also had more options than they would have under a 'one size fits all' system. While one person may have the means to buy everything at the grocery store, I still have many more options for spending my $100 in a capitalist grocery store than in a totalitarian or socialist market.

Some politicians have pushed (and continue to push) for limits on what can be done on the internet. It would be sad to see regulation limit the opportunities that have allowed companies like WOOT! to flourish. Could any government entity ever produce the humor, innovation, ingenuity, or level of service that we have enjoyed from WOOT!? Be honest.

Grew up in an underhang household. Thought there was no other option. Then, a college roommate insisted on overhang and I saw the light. Gawd, my parents were stupid!

WHY ARE YOU IGNORING... Ron Paul?

Seriously though, he definitely has a better chance at the GOP nomination than Bachmann. Maybe even Rick Perry at this rate.

To all the OMGOMGOMGPONIESOMG PWNIES OMGs who think the President has short term control or even influence over the economy, Stupid person is stupid...

The only 'control' the President has over the economy is seen in the long term and in echo effects. As for Obama, the GOP is more concerned with black balling Obama and taking advantage of this economic disaster by investing their undertaxed income/wealth in a failing market than it concerned with actually trying to fix anything.

Historically the government INCREASES spending in times of economic crisis. It CREATES government jobs instead of cutting back pay and creating an even worse disaster...

Ron Paul....! Government can't and won't fix itself, so lets get a President that believes Government is the problem and wants to limit in everyday American lives.

Go watch him speak and you'll understand why what he says makes sense. "Common Sense"

Is Obama even a viable choice anymore? If you make a list of things he's done well and things he has absolutely failed at, well... let's just say one column would be much longer than the other. And yes, healthcare goes in the "failed" column.

Herman Cain. No question, no doubts.

BTW, gas when the free-spending GWB left office was $1.61/gallon average - now it's $3.49 - after recent drops.

Those who remember back to 2007 might remember that during the campaign, Obama said we needed the stimulus and that it would keep unemployment under 8%, and that without it, unemployment might go as high as 9%. When Obama took office - after passing his stimulus while in the Senate, unemployment had already gone up to 8.1%. While it has moderated some now to 9.1%, it has been up to 10.1%.

This is an interesting graph: http://www.tradingeconomics.com/united-states/unemployment-rate - set the start date to, say, January 2007 and see what happens.

Though in honesty, I don't know that McCain would have done any better...

Wow - I woot!ed so much my sig can't contain it all!
