I was thinking the same thing, until I remember that Comcast will charge me to have another TV in the house. I hate Comcast and their little boxes.

Hmmm... come back when it has a built-in Blu-ray player. Of course, it's a nice all-in-1 with 2 HDMI and a VGA input, so you can use it as a computer monitor too.

I dunnooooo...

My other relevant commments from the previous woot (separate from my comments above):

Toshiba didn't do well in PCMag's 2010 HDTV readers survey
http://www.pcmag.com/image_popup/0,1871,iid=267315,00.asp

or in PC World's readers survey last fall:

http://www.pcworld.com/article/211088/2010_reliability_and_service_survey_hdtvs.html

but some (not all) of the reviews as noted were quite positive here/referenced on the earlier woot.

Edit: and the Amazon link itself to the info mentioned above--$319.98, 3 stars, 9 reviews

Yeah, odd resolution to me too. My 24" Samsung is at 1920x1200 which is perfect. That one sounds really square.

You need more fiber if you are there long enough to watch a DVD... :-)

You don't need the cable box, this tv has a BUILT IN DVD PLAYER! That's what makes it so great!! Why am I so excited over a 24" TV?!

Or possibly a Roku Box- they're a lot smaller than i thought and would probably mount to the side of this with a little Velcro with no problem.

Edit: OH YEAH! 'CAUSE IT'S ALSO 1080P!!!

does this toshiba have a sleep timer

MichXelle

quality posts: 18 Private Messages MichXelle

Size problem, it's way too small. That would be a perfect size for a bathroom in my home. It would be too small for the smallest bedroom here.

If it was a 32" I would grab it at up to $100 more for the smaller guest room or for when either of us are cooking in the kitchen. My computer monitor is 24" or 25", has HDMI, a kick butt display and easy TV capabilities and I never use it for TV or DVD. Even when one of us is watching the 37" LED-LCD and it's a show the other doesn't like.

Sorry Woot, we were on a spending roll, 3 days in a row of orders.

Ooh, my wife's Xoom arrived 2 days ago. She's happy with it which keeps things nice and calm round here. Thanks for a speedy delivery Woot.

Oh man- get some nice crimson colored towels to put in front of the tv, and make it stealth. Then you could pull them to the sides of the tv and pretend they were movie theater drapes and you're in your own personal theater.

From the product website page:

They list a sleep timer.

Reading the user's guide, it doesn't mention divx. It does mention the computer connection for images and sound files. Someone who owns this (or maybe can find the detail in the manual, I can't) needs to chime in.

The reason I didn't think the user's manual link on the support page worked is because I didn't wait long enough for it to download:

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2966396&rpn=undefined&modelFilter=&selCategory=2797337&selFamily=2797340 If you click User's guide tab, plan to wait awhile.

Or download it directly:
http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/manuals/userguides/su2966813/19_24_32_SLV411U_OM.pdf

although not any faster.

Well, the title of the digital TV/computer monitor is actually technically correct, since the ####p value is the value of the number of pixels going horizontally all the way across the screen. The 'p' at the end of the four #### stands for progressive scan.

Yeah it seems like a very weirdly shaped monitor

Sorry Woot!, I love you, but...

this Refurb is 10$ more and has built in wireless and web apps... like netflix and amazon prime.. though I didn't check shipping, I'd still rather have this in leu of the current Woot! offering.

I know what you're saying, but if I could find a CNET staff review, I'd post it:

Can you find it? The above link notes CNET hasn't reviewed it yet.

I got this TV not too long ago. It does tilt slightly, but I honestly wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't read that it tilts.

I am satisfied with this purchase. (even though I bought it for $10 more from woot! like.... 3 weeks ago?) I can't speak to how well the DVD does or doesn't work because I really don't plan on using it when I have my PS3 hooked up. Which brings me to the reason I recommend this purchase: Game Mode.

I play tons of fighting games and this is perfect for fighting games. There seems to be almost no input delay while on game mode. Actually even while off game mode. I'm assuming that with game mode turned on I'm only getting 2-frame (that's two-60ths of a second in a 60-frame-per-second-game) input delay which is arcade-perfect as far my knowledge on the subject goes.

I'm only recommending it for that reason. Fighting games. Anything else I'm not really gonna research or go too in-depth with. As long as the TV doesn't crap out on me in a year it will have been a sensible purchase for me. 5-stars as a fighting game monitor. 4-stars short-term-owned. Could really have done without the DVD player built-in but the size and other features were exactly what I was looking for.

I agree. 1280 x 1080 is NOT full HD, as described in the listing. 1920 x 1200 IS FULL HD.

SOLD OUT?

90% Sold and I just work up. It's 6 a.m. in New York City.

FREE AIR TV

Hook this TV up using an indoor antenna. I tried old fashioned rabbit ears and received limited signals. With an up-to-date antenna $14.99 I received 20 stations. No more cable bills!

DVD

Modern automated DVD is motorized. State of the art TV combo.

SURROUND SOUND?

Just for fun I hooked up my speakers from my PC and was amazed to hear sounds in stereo. Not quite Surround Sound so I purchsed an inexpensive 3 piece stereo with a sub woofer for under $30. new.

BLACK AND WHITE TV

I am a 50's homemaker. In days where we did our own repairs and experimented with TV reception. "The Honeymooners" and "I love Lucy". I am 78 years young.GOOD LUCK!
