This fall, Shrek's feline friend Puss in Boots will get his own movie, with Antonio Banderas back at the vocal chords. Many of our good TV shows and movies have been spin-offs. Trapper John, M.D. grew out of M*A*S*H, Laverne and Shirley from Happy Days, along with Mork & Mindy and Joanie Loves Chachi. The Ewoks films were spun off from Star Wars, etc.
Unlike a sequel, a good part of the setting comes from the previous show, but a character or characters come from support roles into the lead in the spin-off.
Your Dodgeball #252 task: Create a poster, ad, scene or something from a TV or movie spin-off yet to come. Something like this:

Maybe Oz's Tinman has a romantic flick about his broken heart. Robin steps out of Batman's shadow to be a hero on his own (oops, been done). Mater has his own show with Lightning as a bit part (oops, also been done!). OK, you can do this!

Chop like an as-seen-on-TV food chopper until COB Thursday, vote Friday, and the winner will achieve fame and fortune Saturday! (maybe a little fame, and DB253 hosting will be the fortune)

Nopers, I'll pop up and say welcome to Dodgeball! Glad ~ ecstatic ~ to see new faces.
There are just a few of us left doing this, but we have been at it for longer than the old regular Woot photochop contest (it started long before Dodgeball, but DB has persevered).
So, welcome, and ya'll come back now! ~ and, if you trim your post to 600 pixels wide, it will fit in the Woot-sized space

Anywho, I've been lurking for a while, and I know SOME of the running gags, but not necessarily the stories behind 'em. I'm sure I'll get filled in eventually. Or I can bug you guys when they show up.
