They take up less space because they are flat.

If it worked on my cats, I would totally be in for three...I'm guessing the cats would be rough on it and I'd need backups. Darn

The Scooba worked well on my tile floors ... when it worked.
Recommend against buying ANY iRobot product ...
We have two Roombas with dead batteries, so we took a shot at a Neato (who comes up with the names for these companies?) ... love the technology, and one robot easily does our whole house, but it still has its own issues.

We have way too much cat litter on our floors to make this a feasible investment. I sweep everyday and can barely keep up with the constant barrage of litter in our house. Having five indoor cats will do that though.
Signatures are harshing my mellow.

I love my Scooba (because I hate mopping floors). I bought mine here about two years ago, use it regularly, and I've never had a problem. I don't buy the expensive cleaning fluid - the instructions say right in there that you can use a bit of vinegar instead, and that's what I do. I have a long-haired dog who sheds fabulously and two long-haired cats, and I do sweep lightly before letting the Scooba go to work. (And I do clean the filters and brushes after each use - no biggie).
For storage, I mounted a pull-out rack in one of my kitchen base cabinets, and made a small cutout and installed an electrical outlet right in there. The virtual walls fit on the rack too, and the Scooba is always charged and ready to go that way. I like it a lot.
Really, I'm not blue, I don't have a ratty beard, and I NEVER wear pink.

it's hard enough keeping the dog from taking a leak in the living room, I am now supposed to let a robot roam free squirting liquids around? WHAT KIND OF EXAMPLE ARE WE SETTING HERE PEOPLE?! THINK OF THE BABY TURTLES!
