Takes up space in your entertainment center.

Does this only display your Flipshare media? Or does this allow your entire computer screen to be connected? (e.g., netFlix)

novastarj

quality posts: 30 Private Messages novastarj

This just connects your video output on your computer to your TV wirelessly, right? Or does it just stream video files to the TV, not the computer output itself?

Also, is having a Flip Camera required, and it will work with other types of video files?

Finally, what's the quality and range like?

Warning! Amazon reviewers say that it only works within about 10 feet of the TV, not from your desktop in the next room, in for none!

Wouldn't it have been better to offer the flip and this as a package deal?

I am very new to woot. Only bought one item so far (TomTom 550XXL). This Woot-Off experience is a lot like watching a car wreck, only much more fun. Who knows what's coming next? How many will they have? Does the madness ever end??? Oh, dear God, I lost my signal! Quick, let me off the elevator before I miss the next item!!!

The more of this stuff you buy, the faster it comes. So buy three, then create a new account, then buy three more. Rinse and repeat until it shows up.

Me? I'm half man, half owl, and half moose. I am ManOwlMoose. Don't tell Al Gore about me.

You mean in for 3. Because you'll need at least 3 to daisy chain from your computer to your TV.

I'm not so sure, reading the specs seems to specifically call out you can only share your flipshare library, not just display your monitor.

Can't tell whether to be amused or annoyed with all the snarky and snide comments from the peanut gallery. I love a good BATS! BATS! BATS! BATS! BATS! session, don't get me wrong, it's just starting to feel like that's all one ever reads in these here comments.

Where did Cobwebs come from? pretty sure I never typed Cobwebs lol.

This item should be in a bag of 'cobwebs'

Woot is offering a 50% discount compared to the lowest price I could find.

Reviews say the included software is buggy and customer tech support is BAD.

A WDTV plus might be a better option with a tenda usb adapter...

This seems awesome...especially for someone living in a 300 sq ft studio apartment with only a TV, laptop and a futon.

For the rest of the world, meh, that's never going to work.

Just think of this as a $30 Box of Cobwebs Guaranteed to include at least 1 item which may or may not be some type of wireless AV device.

According to Amazon, you can watch non-Flip produced media through it once you've transferred the media in to the software. I assume this means you can watch your movie files, but not Netflix, nor view your desktop on your TV.

It will work with videos from other sources, but you can't see your computer screen on your TV. The remote control can be used to browse a "Flip" folder on your computer to disply the compatible video files in that directory.
