Well I was thinking for our enclosed patio if we opened the windows. Not inside our kitchen.

It's an outdoor device, like any charcoal grill or smoker, but we know of people using it in their fireplace, with an open flue.

They are out of silver. So you'll have to buy the steel rusty ones now instead.

Go for it. Leave it in the rain and watch it RUST

That coupon deal was a big help last time. We used it to buy a roast rack and a dome extension for half price.

I've tried to give up smoking so many times. This looks different than the patch and gum. Too bad I can only buy 3. What happens when I get another craving?

I bought one of these over on the deals.woot.com site a few months ago, and we totally love it. The Cobb website brags about how little charcoal it takes, and they're spot on. We do huge steaks with 7-9 briquettes, and they turn out perfectly. It's also easier to clean than the site might lead you to believe.

It's also almost smokeless, but I would definitely *not* recommend using it inside.

You can use concave mirrors and fresnel lenses? LUCKY! My HOA only allows for cooking outdoors by kinetic energy generated by rubbing my hands together.

I've had mine for about a week, used it twice, once at home to test and the other tailgaiting in a parkinglot. By far the easiest little grill. I was able to grill 14 sausages at one time on it. Haven't gotten much into the smoking or other aspects but it is by far the easiest grill to tailgate with. When you are done, just dump the coals out (safely) and the grill is good to pack back up. Very impressed on few coals I actually need to grill up with (8-10 coals total for 3 hours of high heat).

Let me know if you have any questions

Nice to see the business end taken care of during a Woot-off. It is nice. I didn't buy one, because it is too small for my needs. But, if I was on the fence with this, you being here would have pushed me over.

No,

You have to buy an item 3 times the price- only available at the Apple store and will only grill steaks that the Apple store sells to you.

You can use mirrors and lenses? My HOA only allows us to use heat vision. Do you know how hard it is to cook a steak medium rare using your heat vision?

I swear, one second you're concentrating on the steak while watching the game, the ref makes a bad call, you get angry and poof! Charcoal cooking. Which, is prohibited by my HOA.

Now I have to live in this van down by the river.

But at least the steaks will be grilled to the perfect specified temps that Apple allows you to choose from, and it will notify you via your iDevice that it's ready.

What can it do a smokey joe can't ...

Roast a whole chick beer can style (without the beer can), Bake bread, grill a pizza, Boil water, stirfry, smoke fish or ribs, oh and grill a burger or hotdog. I've even made brownies on it!

Everything comes out juicy and well cooked but not dried out ever.

You can't compare the two.... but I own the company so check out the reviews online

Change y'alls shipping policy/price, and we'll talk. I was all for buying accessories, but the $15 shipping charge really put me off

Let me jump in with my two cents: This Cobb Cooker is a magnificent product. I own several smoking / grilling devices and I think that this unit is near the top of my list. Here are some tips from my experience. (I bought one the last time it popped up on Woot.)

Use a gentle PAM spray on the dome and moat for easier cleaning. The more fluid you put in the moat, the lower the cooking temperature will be. Don’t keep opening the thing. Use a probe thermometer. Get the fenced rack and dome extender when you can. In the mean time, if you happen to have a Webber Smokey Joe grill, the charcoal grate can be pressed into service by making a ring of rolled foil and balancing the rack on top. I did a nice Tri-tip on mine Monday and it was very good.

Several asked about the “stealth factor”. I used Duraflame fire starting sticks and Kingsford charcoal. The smell of the starting charcoal was noticeable but not terribly strong. Were I to attempt to disguise this, I might toss a tiny bit of bacon on the charcoals as they started up and add more bacon bit-by-bit until the start up smoke subsided.

To smoke meat, keep the moat full and use wet chips in little packets of foil on top of the coals. I got a very nice smoke ring on some ribs over the weekend.

either the charcoal burned hot and fast up in 20 minutes(or less) and burned the underside of my food.. or the charcoal would go out.

Gave it to a neighbor.. he couldn't get it to work either.

Got mine last week and used it over the weekend. Worked as advertized making great chicken and perfect bacon.

I purchased one during the last woot off a few weeks ago and it's pretty cool. I'm a single guy in an apartment and I cooked up some ribs on this thing. It cooked them fairly well. I would recommend getting accessories such as the dome extender and grill rack. If you happen to go to a website other than Cobb to get the accessories, call them up to make sure they have them in stock since a lot of places sold out of the accessories once this went on Woot.

This is small enough to carry on a camping trip and will be good to cook with during emergencies/power outages.

Also, consider getting specially flavored Kingsford Charcoal, like mesquite or hickory flavor, to add more flavor to your BBQ.

Enjoy!

It's all about the Q!
