I was trying to think of someone I could buy this for who would find it useful. Then I realized that person is me. But then I saw the price and I can't justify spending $50 on it.

70$ on amazon... SOG is a great brand.

nickjh85 wrote:I have one of these that I use on a daily basis. I LOVE it. The little wing-looking flappy things can be detached, which is helpful. It has a really nice geared opening motion to it, and with all the hardcore work I've done with it (including but not limited to prying, cutting and shaving bits of metal) it hasn't so much as scratched the finish. I am seriously contemplating buying a second one in case I lose the first one, because I'm sure as hell not worried about it breaking.

+1 In for two - my son will love it for Christmas, and I will have a second to backup my stainless from a previous Woot.

I've always found SOG equipment to be top notch. Some of the designs can get a bit funky for my practical tastes.

I wouldn't leave home without my SOG Multi-Tool and SEAL knife.

Unless I was going to the airport. Maybe then.

Watch the SOG stuff - like Gerber their 'stainless' steel can rust if you are not careful. I have a SOG and a Leatherman Wave and the Wave is what I reach for 1st everytime.....

Such highly technical language may damage your street cred.

The consensus was that if you use it what it's meant for it's awesome.

Also you can swap out the tools you don't want.

I am an EOD tech, currently serving in Afghanistan, and have used this for its purpose. Unfortunately i couldn't use it long, as it fell apart almost immediately. The geared pliers are the only plus, but if you want a good multi-tool, Gerber or Leatherman are the way to go.

I like how everyone is a comedian. I find myself laughing at almost none of the comments made while at the same time, receiving no valuable information about the product. Alas, this is what Woot has come to. Oh well. Someone play me a tiny violin.

I do not believe in miracles -- I rely on them.

Got one a while ago and like it. Have used it setting up professional fireworks shows which involve lots of cutting (twine, rope, wire, boxes, etc.), pulling nails and staples out of things, twisting wire, punching holes in stuff and a lot of other abusive chores. It has help up well.

This is now a tall box of cobwebs. For your patience and my mistake, I have included with this makeshift box an official Woot letter.

That letter is: "M". Enjoy!

I'm just hanging out, really.
