I've always found SOG equipment to be top notch. Some of the designs can get a bit funky for my practical tastes.

I wouldn't leave home without my SOG Multi-Tool and SEAL knife.

Unless I was going to the airport. Maybe then.

Watch the SOG stuff - like Gerber their 'stainless' steel can rust if you are not careful. I have a SOG and a Leatherman Wave and the Wave is what I reach for 1st everytime.....

I am an EOD tech, currently serving in Afghanistan, and have used this for its purpose. Unfortunately i couldn't use it long, as it fell apart almost immediately. The geared pliers are the only plus, but if you want a good multi-tool, Gerber or Leatherman are the way to go.

I got one of the mult-use tools from SOG for my boyfriend and he loves it. I've never seen any tool like these open so easily and smoothly.

Look at the Leaterman MUT. It should fit your situation perfectly.

I have yet to use the 1/4" adapter ever. I'd rather it came with the optional vcutter instead.

I just picked this up at my post office. Played with it for a few hours, and it is amazing. Worth it!

Got one a while ago and like it. Have used it setting up professional fireworks shows which involve lots of cutting (twine, rope, wire, boxes, etc.), pulling nails and staples out of things, twisting wire, punching holes in stuff and a lot of other abusive chores. It has help up well.
