To anyone that used the Wine Woot trick to get The Bridee of Chucky, did your order show up on Wine woot or Woot?

Cedar planks you say? Can I use these to build a fence between my house and my neighbor? He keeps watching me while I'm grilling on the deck and it kind of creeps me out...

Got these in a Barrel of Candycorn a few months ago, pretty cool. Grilled some Scottish Salmon on them over Labor Day weekend and got rave reviews. Also, people asking "the heck is woot and why do they make cedar planks?" is priceless

Edit: Never mind, someone edited faster than I could reply to it, or I read it backwards.

I ordered two sets of these planks during a wine.woot-off earlier in the summer. The planks add a great flavor to food, especially salmon.

I like wood, but are there ever multiple Bland Oily Cheeses during 48 hour woot offs?

Be careful not to plank when you have wood. That would be uncomfortable.

Ran out of my last purchase of planks from woot. In for 3 (36) of them.

These ones are great because they are 7 inches wide and can fit a whole filet from costco on them.

I got some of these last year from Woot and I will warn you they are much more "cedary" that others I have used. Makes the food taste like hamsters.

And to pre-emptively answer the recurring question about these, "No you cannot reuse them." If you do it properly, the plank will be very charred and burned when you are done with it. The whole point is that the wood almost burns, releasing the smoke and cedar flavoring. If your plank is in good enough condition to reuse it, you either don't have the grill hot enough or you didn't cook your fish long enough.

These things rock! I got some with the woot! logo a while ago.

When you are done cooking with them, you crumple them and spread 'em on the coals to get that smoked flavor in your food.

Sweet deal!!

I love these they are awesome. I have made some of the best bbq salmon I have ever eaten with them. Also I made jalapeno-tequila lime shrimp cooked on them.

Let's just say I got laid that night.

and if I remember I paid $12.99 at the time

FYI, cedar isn't recommended for smoking meats. It's very oily and has a lot of resins that'll make food taste terrible. It works well for cooking fish on b/c putting fish straight on metal (over flame) causes the meat to stick to the grill. Cedar burns slowly and transfers heat evenly.
