Is it me or do the "Left Profile" and "Right Profile" show a completely different (ridged) top from the other pictures?

This kind of laptop has always seemed old and klunky to me, but I've never had one break on me. Shows what I know...

And with 2GB more RAM. (Granted the HD is smaller, but for most folks 320 is overkill anyway.)

Wow, this should ruin woots sales for the day.

Edit: okay just realized snang is completely wrong. These computers are not the same... not even close. Woot you should do fine.

Lenovo may make it but it's not a Thinkpad. Thus, no tracknipple.

I've had my Lenovo for several years & love it. Had it converted from XP to WP7. I was just thinking of getting something newer, but my Lenovo is loaded & I believe I'll just stick with my older one.

this one is heavier and has a slower proc
you Sir, are incorrect

both are expandable up to 8gb DDR3, which is nice...but this woot comes with 2gb installed, your deal comes with 4.

Your laptop has a better TFT display, but lacks a burner...where woots has a multi-burner but a worse off screen (only in comparison).

realistically....this laptop is not a bad deal for what it is (but with Black Friday around the corner, might as well save your bucks a little bit longer for some smashing savings later!)

cheers!

Lenovo bought the Thinkpad line from IBM a while back. I think they are aimed more at businesses, but I've heard they are built pretty well. Should be a bit more durable than the low end laptops from other manufacturers. But the specs on this one have me a little worried. Especially this close to all the fall deals on laptops and computers.

No it isn't but they did buy the rights to use the thinkpad name on some of their computers.

Sorry fellow woofers but this is not a deal at all...
I have the newer model with the Sandy Bridge chip and I got it for 270 at a local B&M store. Cough cough...cofryselecough

Keep your money and look around first.

Now... for the price, it is a very entry level laptop. Only thing I do not like are the hinges and plastic case. Hinges feel like they will give in about a year if lucky... but the case is very thin plastic with lots of bend to the whole body.

My point being dont expect the same performance from a slow AMD processor, its a different product.

Close... the processor on the BB one is an AMD E-350 which is a dual core 1.6ghz. the woot one is a dual core 2.1ghz. But the specs on the BB one are better all around otherwise...

Tough call... I think I would lean to the BB one... for what one would use this class of laptop for, the 1.6g won't matter as much as the other specs.

I'm on my second Lenovo laptop and I've loved them both. They're sturdy and have handled a lot of drops without problems, and they also keep pretty cool even when I'm gaming. I probably wouldn't get this particular model because it lacks the trackpoint that I love so much, but in general I've found the machines very well designed.
