Mine still only says shipping info received. I will keep my fingers crossed that mine will arrive by the delivery date of the 22nd, but since it hasn't been picked up yet I doubt it will get here soon.

Same with me. Just got it this afternoon and it fired right up. I forgot all about the rebate until you mentioned it. I've got to figure it out too.

I didn't know they delivered on sat, good thing though I will have it for half the weekend.

Well, it actually shipped 35 hours after the anticipated ship date. New Delivery date is the 25th (Tue). Guess I will be raking this weekend. I have to remember that shipping to me from woot is around 2 weeks and to take that into consideration when buying anything in the future.

My estimated delivery has been changed from today(10/21) to tomorrow(10/22). It would have been here today if they hadn't had to replace an unreadable barcode label. It just left Irving, TX at 0206 this morning.

Mine says it's being delivered via home delivery, which kinda sucks because it's being delivered to a commercial address that doesn't typically have someone after 6:30PM.

Ok folks, here we go. It's my Rebate 101 Primer. Read carefully.

1) You will not get a rebate form in the box. You must print it yourself from the link provided on the main page or click here.

2) You will not get a receipt in the box. To print a receipt, go to My Account and click on this product in your purchased list. You'll see a link to print your receipt.

3) Read everything twice, fill everything out, read it again, check everything, make copies of it all, THEN and only then, seal the envelope. Almost all rebates have very exacting instructions and it's easy to forget something.

4) Wait. Rebates take a very long time to process. They are done by companies (not the manufacturer) and this isn't the only rebate campaign they're working on.

got mine yesterday, this thing is a BEAST! I like it better than the $275 Shindaiwa blower I bought my parents a couple years ago.

For $70 I wasnt expecting much, and I was pleasantly surprised

I as well am stumped on the rebate thing. Nothing came with the blower that would indicate there even is a rebate.

Woot,

My blower is defective (priming bulb doesn't fill up and makes a whistling noise when pressed as if there is a hole/leak). According to Hitachi, I'm supposed I'm supposed to return to retailer. Please advise.

Thanks,

Since a filled out product registration card is required for the rebate, will the rebate company register the product for us?

Or should we make a copy of the registration form and send it to the registration address?

In case the blower breaks I don't want Hitachi saying I never mailed in the card...

Thanks all!

Check that the plastic lines are connected. One from the fuel tank to the primer, and one from the primer to the air cleaner housing. Stuff like that is easy to fix without dealing with returns and taking it in for service.

I found a spring about the size of one in a ball point pen and two inch's long in the air cleaner area, Works great, not sure what the spring was for?

I have exactly the same problem. And yes, houndawg, the lines are connected with no visible breakage. I can see bubbles in the fuel when I push the priming bulb. Fuel is not making it into the carb.

Thanks. I opened the air filter and removed the 2 screws holding the carberator to the engine. This revealed that one of the small black hoses was disconnected. Easy fix, must have been missed in the factory.

Mine had exactly the same problem. A quick check of Amazon seems to indicate that this is common. While disappointing it was at least a quick fix. All you have to do is pop the snap-on cover off the carb, remove the two black screws, remove, and reattach the now-visible fuel line on the other side of the priming bulb. There should be two lines attached there. I initially didn't think this was the case with mine but it turns out I couldn't see the disconnected hose with the unit fully assembled.

That was exactly my issue. I took it apart once and didn't see the detached line. I assumed the extra 'nozzle/nipple' coming from the primer bulb was a valve of sorts that lets the primer suck air back in, but not out that part.

I went back and forth with a few people helping them out on one of the Amazon reviews, so to save the time of typing it again, you can go here to read more questions and my answers:

Hitachi (if you can ever get someone to answer who is actually the right department) will tell you to deal with the retailer first, but when you say you got it online they're more likely to then tell you to take it to a repair center...which for many people will be 2 hours or more away. This is the first manufacturer I've dealt with who WANTS you to take it back to the retailer to let them deal with it. Usually you get those brightly colored cards in your box that say not to return it to the retailer and to call them first.

Works FANTASTIC! I just got mine and it is amazing! Starts on first pull and powerfull. My SEARS blower was a pile of RUBBISH from day one...Sears now sells CRAP and everything there...even Craftsman table saws are made in CHINA...Sears WAS quality along time ago now them and K-Mart can go out of business TOGETHER. I had a Hitachi 18volt drill that has junk batteries but this leaf blower is just amazing...Im Lovin It !

The box mine came in has two UPC codes on it, one printed on the box (just plain upc code), another an attached sticker with UPC, model number, serial number, etc. Anyone know which one is the right one to send in for the rebate?

Had mine for 3 days, have run 3 tanks of fuel. I GOT LEAVES!! From what I see Hitachi rules. I have one of their plug in the wall SawsAlls and this thing is just a little more involved to start. Hope it lasts.

You most likely want the one that is printed directly on the box but it doesn't hurt to send both.

I called tech service at Hitachipowertools.com. they told me one of the hoses behind the primer bulb comes lose in shipping. Just take off the air filter cover and connect the hose to the back next to the clear hose and it should work fine.

Seems like they'd fix this in their manufacturing process. Like make the nozzle the rubber tube attaches to ribbed or something like many rubber hose attaching places are in other products. It's obviously been a problem for a while from what I've read (and it was on mine, too).

Got mine last Saturday but didn't get a chance to fire it up until today... and even though I don't have much grass or leaves to use it on right now, it does a great job on the little bit I had available. Blew the seeds off some dandelions in a vacant lot too.

Exactly what I needed. I was tired of sweeping the grass off the sidewalk and driveway after mowing.
