Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

What smartphone? I use my phone to make phone calls. Crazy, but true.

Still single, can't imagine why.

Duh, HTC, of course!

And it DOES run Android, just like every smartphone should!

HTC HD2. It started life as a windows 6.5 phone. Now it runs Android Gingerbread. I'm holding out hope that the kids on XDA Forums will be able to port Ice Cream Sammich to it in the near future.

hooray beer!

Dear iOS and Android fanboys: give WP7 a try like i did and you'll never go back to your inferior OS.

A faceless, nameless 13-year old in the good old ROC for pennies a day and no benefits.

Congratulations on making the iPhone 4S a best-seller.

HTC and/or Google, depends on how you define made my phone. Loving my Nexus One to this day!

HTC, W/Android and satisified even with my carrier; Verizon. Having access daily to E-Mail makes smartphones a serious worthwhile investment.

Smartphone? I only use my little flip phone for calls and the occasional text (and I only have one because works issues me one). Does anyone else remember the good-old-days when the goal was to make mobile phones as small as possible?

IPhone 4s. After a lot of research and several years of everyone at work who bought an android phone having to or deciding to replace it at least twice.

Windows? Seriously? Umm...no. they can force me to use that monstrosity on the work desktop, but my phone is my own, and until a reality distortion field or an extra wish from a Genie makes a VMS handset available. IOS will do.

BTW saw an interesting article about the state of Android updates on the various phones released through mid 2010... no _wonder_ so many folks have to replace them so often...

Look upon my Avatar, ye whiny, and despair!

I sense a trollwar coming on...

Let me pre-empt this.

1. iOS is easy to use, but you have to like what they want you to like.
2. Android is versatile, but requires knowledge to use.
3. Symbian is stable, but lagging in features.
4. WP7 is standardized, but lagging in apps.
5. Blackberry is great for business, but lagging in features and apps.
6. HTC (Windows Mobile 6x) aged very well, but is dying/dead.

Every OS has it's bonuses and detractions. Now SHUT UP.

Nexus handset made by Samsung. No "depends" about it. The OS is Android, an open source originally created by some guy in his garage, but then bought by Google and mass-distributed. Either way, the answer to "Who made you phone?" Is Samsung under a licensing agreement with Google.

Agreed. I'm on HTC Evo 4G running Android and I love it, but I see the great attributes of other phones and OS'. That said, I DO disagree with the statement about Blackberry. RIM lags WAY behind in every single technology and the one distinctive competency they had was enhanced security, which is now assumed in every single phone, making RIM (Blackberry) obsolete.

Wellcom--a "local" Thai brand, but really, it's made by Commtiva, which sells this phone under many names.

May people don't really have the money to buy a $600 smartphone, and their carrier doesn't subsidize/they don't want the huge monthly bill. I'm thankful for this phone, which cost me $200, and works just fine for what it is.

Mine sort of looks like a smartphone, but it's not got any apps or a full OS or anything--just a big screen and some standard utilities. It's the Forrest Gump of smartphones.

My Nokia N900 running Maemo 5. If Nokia planned to support the N9, I'd have bought it in a heartbeat. Now I'm holding out for a phone that:
- runs Android 4
- has a QWERTY keyboard
- supports T-Mobile UMTS frequencies

I might give up on the QWERTY keyboard and get the new Nexus though. Also, Nexus Prime is a way cooler name than Galaxy Nexus, IMNSHO.

Aich Tee See! (Aside from tending to kill (and I mean wear out, not use up) batteries faster than other phones I've owned over the years (Oh, how I miss the charge-life of my old Nokias.), HTC has surprised me very pleasantly with build quality and durability, with my last 3 phones all made by them.)
