If I bought one of these and brought it with me to the UK, would it work overseas?

I have the same model from a woot-off a year ago. I love it. Works great. One of my neighbors has trouble getting through for some reason. They also use an internet phone device too. But thats been the only glitch.

I've had Ooma for about six months now, and my only problems come from my own ISP and it safely failed over to my cellphone, so I didn't miss any calls. After straightening out my ISP, I haven't had any problems at all.

I highly recommend it, but I don't know that a refurb is a good deal. I understand they may charge a fee for using a device that was already registered to someone else, so I would confirm that before buying... it might end up costing the same as a new unit.

Urgh. I had an Ooma VoIP system, and it was just plain terrible. I've got good broadband speeds at home, no traffic shaping, and yet the quality of calls on the Ooma network was consistently terrible.

I have since switched to their main competitor, Vonage, and have no complaints. You cannot program the Telo to use another service, and so have to rebuy if you switch.

Overall .. meh.

How to get people to complain less about woot-offs:
1) Take away the flashing lights and make it look like a normal woot deal
2) bring back the lights
3) sit back and watch people comment about they are glad that the woot-off is still going

This could be your last real phone bill! Ooma is rated #1 by Consumer Reports for phone service. Had them for years, great product and service.

I've had Ooma for about a year now, and although it was rocky to start, it was a router config issue on my end. Once I put this on the DMZ, it's rock solid and much less money that most other services out there, even when you purchase the premium service.

Ooma's been providing phone service for 3 weeks now at my house - no problems with switch-over, service, or quality of sound. They ported my number in five days, which is a record around here, I'm sure. It's only been a few weeks, but I've got no complaints with Ooma. Ooma's a hardworking lady!

I have had Ooma for 3 years and had no problems. This is a fantastic price. If you are even considering VoIP, I would grab one of these.

Difference is this one is refurbished, the one on Amazon is new. However to answer someone's previous statement, you do NOT have to pay a registration fee even though it is refurbished. Woot is an official dealer for Ooma. I bought one here 8 months ago, its been awesome! No quality issues, paying only taxes per month, like $3.40 for unlimited nationwide calls/month. Can't beat it.

I can see it now.... the whole Woot staff gathered around one computer while one of them says "watch this" and hits a huge red button that pauses the Woot Off. Meanwhile the geeky little guy from accounting is taking bets on how many frantic Wooters will post comments about this being the worst Woot Off ever. Finally the boss strolls in to put an end to the shenanigans. At least that's how it happened in my head.

I think the only thing you will have issues with is the power adapter. Internet should work just fine. I think I noticed on a previous Woot conversation someone mentioned they were using it in China or some place over seas.

I left Vonage for this. And I agree there were some growing pains... but once I moved the ooma to the DMZ, it's been perfect ever since.
