Refurbs aren't always broken when they come in - it might be as simple as a soccermom returning it because she really wanted an iPad.

Or, the original owner had a problem the tech could not replicate so he figured it's all good.

Pros: The pills were there.
Cons: So was the tank.

Tempted on this.

After reading several pages of discussion, I have to come to the conclusion that this would be a deal at about $40 or $50 less, and a buy at that point. $279, buy. $329, not quite a trigger-pull.

1. Black Friday season, deals likely to be had on things like this over the next month.

2. Tablet world changing fast, new and better tabs on the imminent horizon...as well as some lower end pseudo-tabs bracketing this on the lower end. Prices will likely continue to decline for "older" tabs like this one.

3. If new, $329 might be a buy given the above, but throw refurb into the mix...meh.

I have the money, but it just isn't quite compelling enough of a value. Close, but not quite. 6 months ago, it would likely have been. Current deal is OK, but not great.

I got this one and like it a lot.

I actually got it at Target which was cheaper than Amazon.

Something is wrong with Woot.

I keep clicking the "I Want One" button and it takes me to the page to buy the unit.

I Want one... I can't afford one... but I do want one.

They should make the button less confusing and say "I want one and can actually afford to buy one and intend to buy one."

That would be better.

Mentioned before, but I really like the "AYL" case for $23 on Amazon. Nice solid leather feel, works as a stand, and you never really have to take it out of the case for any reason.

As for the XOOM, I'm glad I bought it!

How does this tablet perform on non-optimized HD flash video? Choppy or watchable? Can it be viewed for hours at a time or does the tablet need a break?

Well, not exactly, but . . a suggestion. I have a 10" viewsonic GTab. I couldnt find a case (found a bzillion for the eyePad). Found generic case for eReaders at Staples that works adequately.

The Motorola case for these things suck big time. I use the AYL Leather case made for this thing, and absolutely love it! I'm not the only one, over at Amazon the case has 11 4 star reviews and 181 5 star reviews. It's definitely the best cover I've ever used for any device!

Does anything to prevent this device from being upgraded to future releases of Android? I have one that is running 3.2 now and works great, but I'm leary based on how companies "personalize" android.

How is the viewing angle on the screen? I've got a gTab and the angle problems are annoying enough to want to upgrade.

I ordered this a few weeks ago and agree that while it was a refurb, mine clearly had not been used and was pristine out of the box. So far, I love it. I travel for work and this is so much easier than a laptop...plays anything I have thrown at it video-wise, tethers easily to my 4g phone with good speed, and seems much smoother than my Evo, which is crashy lately. The battery life is great and I have to believe the whole experience will be even better once it gets ICS. To me, this is what I have always thought about regarding a tablet. It does pretty much everything and it doesnt feel like a big phone like the Ipad.

I bought a decent pen/stylus and can jot notes with pretty decent quality. I ordered the case from mertitline and it works. I haven't found a decent screen protector, but I am still looking. The cheap ones I bought were matte, but really mangled the look of the screen and the more expensive one was clear, but was just as reflective and finger-printy.

I wish Zagg would make a keyboard case for it, but so far no luck on that front.

I may get another one for my gf as an xmas gift...don't know if she will use it tho.

I want to root it, but it seems a bit more of a PITA than my Evo. Has anyone done it?

This is a nice tablet although I would prefer the Asus Transformer. Although either one would be better than the firesale touchpad I bought.

Even with the imminent demise of Flash mobile, this is still a nice tablet. If nothing else, it has an SD card slot, which I would guess the iPad never will -- Apple's business model seems to be "if you want more storage give us an extra $200".

Old tech. Acer is dropping the transformer prime on the market this month or next with a Tegra 3 quad core processor starting at 499.99. I just can't justify $329 for somehing that is just about obsolete.

Yep. The main thing wrong with Skype on the Xoom is that it doesn't respond to the volume control. I emailed Skype tech support, got no response.

Having played and rooted several tablets, the xoom is a nice unit overall. However I come over to woot! to get great deals, not 5.75% off on an item.

Walmart - in stock - $349 . Woot $329

At a pp of $249 (about 30% lower than Walmart) I would have gotten 2 or 3 of them as "top" Xmas gifts. With BF around the corner and new stuff coming out, this price just doesn't inspire unfortunately.

I know you can do better woot!

Things start to roll off when the screen angle nears 45 degrees. I can easily see what's on screen when it's in the lap of the person sitting next to me (no privacy in airplanes!)

ZooGue makes a decent looking one, I do not have one but most of the reviews I have seen have been positive. The one that often gets packaged with it is decent, but it could be better.
On a somewhat related note: the "Otterbox Latch" is pretty awesome.

Excuse me for this stupid question. What about apps? My 11 year old daughter has an IPOD Touch and there are tons of apps for her my wife and me too (Medical stuff and business). She can also use it as a phone, not iPhone but there is an app for free minutes and she can dial it up, She can talk to her friends live with pictures around the world over the wifi and much more amazing things. What about this? are there any apps or just internet and pictures?
