Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Living in Phoenix you learn there's only 2 seasons. Summer which lasts far too long, and Spinterall(sping+winter+fall).

It's just really hot then it gets cool for a couple months.

D is so true, but that's every day really and has nothing to do with fall. Weekends suck when you commute across the Napa Valley and end up following drunk wine tasters going 20 miles under the speed limit!

I don't care how many shades of drought-induced brown I can see, it does not count as "fall foliage".

Here in South Florida, the palm trees stay green all year. Our trees lose leaves after it gets back into the 80's (our spring) and the bright colors are the flowering trees - poincianas (red), jacarandas (blue) and tababuas (yellow).

Exactly! There are no leaves left on most trees and there is snow on the ground. Woot should have asked this Fall question a month ago.

Here in Tucson, the ocotillo leaves turn yellow and fall off, but the seguaros stay green.
Last week we had to run the A/C because it was still hot. This week, we had to turn on the heat. No transition.

Pretty colors? What pretty colors.

All we have around here in South/Central Texas are Pecan Trees and Mountain Cedar.

The leaves of a Pecan Tree only turn an ugly shade of brown and the Mountain Cedar releases its pollen and makes everyone here miserable with allergies.

The only "pretty colors" we get around here are the brown leaves and white Kleenex.

All the leaves are gone. And even though they're still on the ground because I'm lazy about raking, they're not visible anymore because they're COVERED IN SNOW. A little late on this question, I feel.

Yes, they are coming out fresh and green! Happy springtime to half the world. Sure beats the Easter jack-o-lanterns of last April.

The colors in the Seattle area last week were beautiful - the reds and yellows - combined with the green of fir trees. I, too, live in South Florida, and there are a few colors on certain few bushes and trees, but absolutely nothing like New England (not this year with the snow I guess) and other areas of the country. My vote still goes to Florida because of the usually wonderful weather.

They're still gorgeous! And now wet. It's like walking through a shallow, leafy swamp.

Out here in the South Outer Banks of North Carolina, the colors are just beginning to get pretty. But there are so many pine trees that stay green, we don't have the dramatic mass of colors that our western mountains have.
Then again, we do have the incredible clear air and the ocean. And the fishing is great right now!

Pottsville, Arkansas. Conveniently located on I-40 halfway between New York and Los Angeles.

I love summer because everyday is nice unless it's raining, i love early fall and late spring because it's still nice enough to stay outside lots and bundle up in comfy clothing. I love winter because i get to strap things to my feet and fly down mountains...oh do i fly...

The only parts of the year that suck are most of November and late March/April, but I'll never trade my seasons to live somewhere warm.

Yeah, half the trees in this area burned down and the rest are half dead from drought.

I don't care if we are technically in "fall"... once it drops below 80, it's winter. Brrr... bring back the 100+ days.

Missing option: "Yeah... pretty. If you think they're so pretty, why don't you rake my lawn?"

Living in Texas, because of the horrible drought, most of our leaves turned colors as the trees died months ago.
