Maybe you just worded that wrong, but really it just makes me feel sad for you. When my sister was little, she'd draw me a couple pictures for christmas and to this day they remain some of my favorite gifts because she put her heart into it. You don't necessarily need to spend money on them, but do something that says you think they're special.

My wife has a laptop that she sits with all the time while we watch TV together. I have my smartphone but I'd love to have something bigger for web browsing and reading books. Since all I need is a wifi connection, the Kindle Fire is perfect.
