Well, I suppose that it was only fitting that the contest thread was finally removed after its extended hiatus. It was starting to look rather silly -- kinda like the exercise bike sitting idle for the past two years in the corner of my bedroom being used as a clothesline until I finally got rid of it. At least now I don't have to put up with people coming in asking why I'm using it as a clothesline and why I'm no longer riding it.

Thanks for the fun, WOOT.

I feel a loss. It's finally over for good now. The world is a sadder place.

And the last evidence of unjudged contests and promises broken has been silently wiped away... all without a word of explanation.

I am a little embarrassed to admit it now, but there was a time (in the early contest days) when the photochop contests were one of a small handful of things I looked forward to each week. I was recently married, a full-time student, and working a more than full-time job, but on Friday nights after my wife went to bed, I allowed myself to forget about the seemingly endless list of things I should be working on, and frivolously spend an hour (or three) creating an entry for each weeks contest. That is why I remember them so fondly, and why am sad to see what has come of them.

To quote John de Lancie: All good things must come to an end.

Much like the Daily (audio only) w00t p0d-cast.

While I enjoy the M&M videos, now that it's only once weekly, I don't have much motivation to check out w00t on a daily basis.
