I LOVE my roku. Essentially the poor man's DVR, and it is glorious.

Bought this a little while ago on a previous Woot. Since Woot hasn't bothered to ship it yet, can't say how good it is. Hopefully very good though.

I think these were just $50 brand new last week from Roku

Got mine last week and its great. Wish it was a bit faster, but my wallet thanks me for not buying the latest and greatest.
Does a better job of streaming Netflix than my PS3 did.

I wish this had an optical audio output... that's the only negative I can say about this.

Purchased a Roku player a few months ago on woot! and we love it for streaming Pandora.

Remember, it isn't Woot! anymore...since they sold (out) to Amazon, there are corporate earning before year end that they are no doubt being told to go after. At least they aren't recycling things at a lower price, screwing people over who bought it a few days or weeks earlier, but, yes, I admit that much of the shine is off the Woot Offs.

Just got the LS from Amazon yesterday for the same price and free shipping. No cable input, not replay, but brand new. Works great and is really easy to set up..unless you are one of those folks who could never set the clock on your VCR 'cause you never read the IB.

I bought my Roku on woot a few months ago, and it is the best purchase I made all year. We use it so much, we may be ditching cable. Definitely has changed our viewing habits!

Make note, this is NOT the Roku2 player. It is the previous generation.

As much as I want one, I'm gonna hold out till I can get an XS on sale. I want the USB and ethernet ports.

I think this item is overpriced. This is the first generation of Roku for $50 and refurbished? the new Roku2 is $80 brand new!. Roku also now has an option for Roku LT for the same price.

honestly woot...

I got one! But... why do they have so many refurbished Roku's. Do they break? I've not heard any bad word of mouth on these.

please note that these are not the current version. I usually don't mind buying last years tech for cheaper, but the price differential here for a newer version isn't that great.

I prefer my WD TV Live :-)

Yes it can, and it will automatically downgrade the quality based on the bandwidth available.

I have three of these, two in my home, and one in my RV. They work great either wired or wireless, though I notice the time spent buffering before the streaming starts to be quicker when wired. (The box wired, not the watcher .

In for three more, two as gifts and a backup for me.

if there isn't a app to do it. You can register and write your own apps.

Could you hook this up to a PC so you could use regular/free Hulu?

Roku's are great - definitely the best option if you use Netflix/Hulu Plus and don't have a "smart" TV yet.

I'd actually prefer Roku's interface and streaming capability to most of the built-in brand name options. Only Samsung's "Smart TV" really beats this guy.

If you're look for a gift, this is great. Even my parents can use it. And they haven't figured out the DVD player yet.

...oh yes! these are great especially if you have an older tv with a composite input ~ a poor man's dvr for sure.

i got mine (2) from woot an older 1st gen roku with no hdmi input, and this one ~ the older has component & composite & s-video though so lots of possibilities.

beware though that this roku xd came with NO enhanced remote and woot said return the WHOLE mess, which is stupid ~ just send me the correct remote woot which is advertised here!

I've got 3 roku units in my home. Love them. My guests love this in the guest room and I think they stay up late playing with it and all it possibilities.

Can this connect to a standard definition TV with RCA cables, or is it HDMI only?

Although this doesn't have a USB port, it does have an ethernet port.

I am confused, does this thing allow you to watch netflix without a netflix account?

Because if that is the case then this is easily worth every penny.
