I actually found a pretty cheap hiking pole a couple weeks ago. Near my backyard. I like to call it a stick. It was lighted too, at least when I lit it on fire.

Looks like it could be used to cook food on the grill from my hammock with this.

They are very pointy at the end--may be good in case of a bear attack!

It is quite alright if you don't ski, they won't discriminate. Plus they are inanimate hiking poles. So they really can't discriminate.

woot! should restrict first time wooters from getting the infamous Bustin' out chainsaws.

S. Carolina and Alabama are taking hikes?

No...now it's Utah and Idaho!

Who knew red state people were so into hiking poles.

cheap hiking poles are generally cheap for a reason. $35 at Amazon:

Pretty bad reviews but definitely not surprising. Be prepared to pay $90+ for a decent pair

Ya know, gang - the time-outs are most likely deliberate.

Sure, it causes some people - probably most who participate - to get really irate, while pleasing a few.

But isn't it also true that the Bruised Orifice Cream is the main reason people hang around watching all the true crap being put up during the Woot-Off?

If everyone got one, it wouldn't be the um ... "thrill" it apparently is for many people. I'm betting that most who are really angry about it will be back for the next one. And the next one ... etc.

That flip up thumb light thing is very James Bond.

Cons: So was the tank.

Valid point, but you have to agree that the success/fail rate is way too tilted towards failure. I think there needs to be a Burgandy Olfactory Center cap. No more than one Burgandy Olfactory Center in a 6 month period. The servers suck as-is, so why not let the other 11billion people here have a shot?

In for one pair.

I need a cane or a stick for any extended amount of walking. I had a really nice techno-aluminum hiking stick not too different from these, but I must have left it somewhere.

I've been sad ever since then even though I have a usable cane. Now I'll have sticks again. Not quite how I'd spec them out, but....

Finished with Woot. 3 years I've tried and 3 years of server overload. Never been able to get the CRAP. Except for the stuff I purchased. 1 0ut of 6 isn't bad. (mostly all crap) Be careful with this outfit. They suck! and YES I'm pissed and wining a little but they're losing the customer and who ever else my campaign will reach!
