Tracking says it shipped on Dec. 14th, and expected to arrive on the 17th (Sat)

I'm hoping, since this appears to be the only present my 14 yr old will be getting this year....

Nah I read those 8 pages, plus the 25 minute youtube review, plus the article on the accompanying reviewers webstie, plus the etc. etc. etc. I know it "works". I just want it to 'work' better than 'terribly'.

i read the article on the cell reviews website and saw the 25 minute video, what is the etc, etc.

I am a first time tablet buyer, any information on how to root the Vizio?

Does the memory get full so quickly that you might have to delete apps in order to install new ones?

Having heard nothing about sightings at Costco, I did find one (refurb) for $219 at Overstock.com.

Just delivered...and straight out of the box, it hasn't turned on. Now, it could just need charging (currently on the charger), but I called VIZIO just to make sure this is normal behavior...and they tell me the table was purchased from Wal-mart...and they have no idea how woot! got it...and a customer called in last week with the exact same tablet (gave them the serial #) and it was having issues. They also told me, they would not be able to service this unit - because of that fact. So...I may just have to send one of those "refund-only" emails...if it doesn't turn on in a few hours.

etc. etc. was my own research on peripheral review sites. Most of them said the tablet was adequate consumer-grade tech (like Vizio televisions) but absolutely nothing near top of the line.

I don't have any info on rooting, but I'm pretty sure the Vizio interface overlay is just a 'launcher', and that if you install a 3rd party launcher (like ADW or LauncherEX) you can just use that instead of the Vizio overlay.

I doubt the memory will fill up that quick unless you install 500MB+ games, which there are only a few of available on the market. You may have to delete stuff if you decide to store movies/music on the internal drive though. From my understanding this is the main function of the 2nd mSD port.

This is all speculation since mine doesn't get delivered until tomorrow, but my research was thorough enough and I'm fairly familiar enough with android that I'm confident in my response.

Yikes! Sorry you had to deal with that. We've straightened this all out with Vizio and they'll be helping Woot customers from now on.

Please let us know if you have any issues with Vizio support and we'll give them a talkin to.

Will it hurt anything to use the ipad 10v charger in place of the 5v supplied? I would think this would speed up charging quite a bit... Other then the slow charging I do love this for what it is. I have it next to my wife's ipad and its just like me, it can do pretty much do everything the same only a little bit slower...

Do not use a 10v charger on it. It will definitely kill it. That would be doubling the voltage. It's just like ac current. Small kitchen appliances only use 110 ac, clothes dryers and stove are 220v. You'd cook it pretty fast if not instantly. As far as I've read its a 5v 2amp charger but I could be wrong. At most you'd even wanna try would be a 2.25-2.50 amp charger. But that's on you. While it might be ok, your taking a risk of ruining the tablet or shortening the battery life. Batteries hate heat and extremely charging and discharging. Unless its a lithium ion cell and I'm pretty sure these batteries are. Just don't over charge them.

Mine arrived today. Already rooted it. Installed Go Launcher to replace Vizio's half a$$ed interface. Also installed Titanium Backup Pro to stop the nagging update reminder.

A note if you intend to root:

Only software version 1.4 is vulnrerable to rooting. DO NOT PERFORM THE UPGRADE TO 1.5 or you will lose the ability to root. Instructions for rooting are on XDA. Took all of 2 minutes.

Well, mine arrived. It won't take a charge. The connection is clearly loose. I'm bummed-we had planned on giving this to our kids for Christmas. Instead, I've got to call Vizio and hope they'll honor their warranty.

And, yes, it was also DOA. Nothing happened. At all.

Does your unit respond at all? I get no notification from my (what appears to be a DOA) tablet... I also notice that the micro USB female port on the tablet is very loose... maybe my reconditioned tab got around a bit too much and had one too many cables stuck in it...

Got mine today. I seems to be new and works great (I'm posting from it now). It's a nice tablet, and I have both an iPad and a Nook Color. I got it mostly as a smart remote, but I can already see I'll use it for more than that. I'm pleased. Good deal, Woot!

Here's how to TRACK your VIZIO tablet:

1. GO TO: https://www.fedex.com/AltRefTracking?cntry_code=us

2. Leave the account number blank!

3. Enter your reference number. (Your reference number is your woot.com order number)

4.Put: 12/14/2011 as the ship date.

5. Enter the destination country and destination zip code. Press Enter!

YOUR ORDER SHOULD SHOW UP AND IT SHOULD GIVE YOU THE TRACKING NUMBER ALSO!!!!

Do you see a light on to indicate charging? Wondering if I have a bad usb cable, a bad charger, a bad usb connection on the tablet, or just a DOA tablet...

Just got my Vizio tablet. Fedex guy just handed it to us. So far everything is working great! I plugged in the tablet right away and then it turned on and I got started using it right away! So far I'm pretty happy. I'm transferring all my music onto the sd card right now so let's hope that works good because I LOVE Music! So far the only thing it wouldn't let me download is adobe flash player 11 ... it said it wasn't compatible with my vizio tablet but idk I haven't browsed the web yet so I'm gonna assume the flash is pre-installed and already working! I'm going to do a review on the tablet so look up my channel on YouTube! My channel name is emhsno!

O and also the only thing that was a little frusterating was the fact since the tablet doesn't have a regular UI, even if you download adw launcher, you still can't change the background or use a live background. All it is, is a black background for ADW

Got mine yesterday and have spent a couple hours playing with it. All I can say is for the money this little sucker is amazing.

Biggest problem thus far is the remote control app. They say they cover 95% of the devices, but I have 3 that are't in their list. Worse still is that on some of the devices I tried to use their trial and error method (i.e model number not known or in their database) and the app crashes. The saving grace is that the most important devices (TV, DVR, and DVD player) all were listed and working.

For the previous poster that couldn't get wireless working, if you're using MAC address filtering on your router you will need to get that entered. Also, it is my understanding that you must have SSID broadcast enabled.

I had a similar experience. They had my pioneer receiver listed but it wouldn't work when I selected it. I just selected another one that isn't my model and that worked. Same with the TV. The remote doesn't go too deep so you don't need the exact model.

I'm very pleased with mine. The 8 inch form is much better than a 7 inch tablet.

Neither of those are the problem. It would seem there is something up with my rosewill router that the vtabs do not like. I have several other routers and they work fine.

Thanks for the help. It's gonna be fun figuring out why it won't work with the rosewill.

Got mine a couple of hours ago. It seemed DOA, but after it was plugged in for a good 20 minutes it came on and the setup started. The battery icon showed that it was drained at the time. Slowly but surely, it's charging. Did I miss something in the setup? my clock is off by 2 hours. How can I get that corrected?

Well, Vizio just screwed me. When I turned on the device, it went through a little wizard, and as part of the wizard, it downloaded the 1.5 update -- and tried to make it appear mandatory. Now I have an unrootable device. I am hoping Woot is going to step up and allow me to either replace it, or return it. I'm not interested in an unrootable device. According to Vizio support, Woot should accept it as a refund with no trouble. Evidently the breaking of root is due to Netflix (a service I don't want, or use) requiring it.

I have mine very nicely set up and rooted after only a few hours.

Thanks woot!

Netflix works great, but some hulu videos stop part way through to buffer, but then a notice that there is something wrong with the network pops up. At first I accepted it as valid, but then I hit the play arrow again and the videos resumed and played out w/o anymore issues.

I like my new Vizio Android tablet a lot.

I received my tablet today with 3 bars of power. Been playing with it since I opened it. Currently adding apps and listening to Pandora. Love it, great buy should've gotten one for my son who will probably swipe mine. Thanks a bundle Woot, Merry Christmas!!

I got mine today also. It came with only two bars of power. A two hour charge brought it up to 5 and I've been playing with it ever since. I've seen some comments about how long it took to charge and how long the battery lasts. The new update supposedly cures those problems. It looks like you're going to have to make a decision, rooting it or longer battery life and faster charging. I installed the update.
