I'd seen Grinding the Rock or whatever that crazy vid was called & wondered what sort of camera it was; now I know.

Alas - watching the sample video makes me feel like a boring old lady who isn't interesting enough to buy such a camera.

What sold me in buying this... It has a one shot per minute setting for those films you see on Nat Geographic watching a flower grow. Yes I know there is only a 2.5 hour battery... but it does say, it will continue to film while being charged. I am hoping that by setting this up at the right angle over a long period of time... When I play it back at normal speed, I am hoping to catch a glimpse of my local elected official actually moving to do something!

My sister and dad got me the 980 one for christmas, and it was this price at R.E.I.

I absolutely love it. I have one mount on the front of my snowboard, and I'm buying more stickies to put it on my other equipment. We took one white water rafting over the summer in Colorado, and got some awesome footage! There's all kinds of mounts you can get for it, and it comes with two sticky mounts, and a headstrap.

Also, it doesn't require you to install any software like some specialty cameras. You just plug it in, and take the video straight from the camera. However, I would suggest getting at least a 16GB SD card for it.

Just bought one! Can hardly wait to strap it on my motorcycle helmet... holding a video camera with one hand and steering with the other while on a motorcycle doesn't work so well...

I was sooo excited to see this this morning! My 15 year old asked for one for Christmas and I had been hoping to find a good deal this week, but knew I was cutting it close. A HUGE thanks to Woot for offering this deal and for making sure it gets to us by Christmas!

This looks so good I am in for two! Have been wanting a "critter cam" but either very expensive, or $30 junk. Looks like this can do all I want. I am going to figure a way to attach it to my ShepWeiler's collar. Might also work on my 20lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel's collar.

For all of you who keep asking where you can mount this...
.
Instead of buying all of those Extra Attachments... Go to the hardware store of your choice and pick up a roll of duct tape and Industrial strength 1" wide Velcro.
.
If you can't figure it out from there, you should not be shopping at WOOT!

If I didn't already own TWO, I'd probably buy another one! These cameras are awesome! Great video quality, stable shots, WIDE shooting angles, so many mounting options, accessories to accommodate ANY shooting situation! The possibilities are endless with this gadget! I would recommend getting the LCD backpack accessory for this so you can immediately review your videos/pictures. Happy Wooting everyone!

Hi all.. I'm a sporadic wooter at best, and so currently stumped. I've already purchased one of these a few minutes ago, paid and all that - And now I've decided that I want another one. When I tried to go through the process of buying another, I got a red message that says "Your account has already purchased this sale" and it doesn't look like I can go any further. I this the way it is on woot? Do you have to order everything in one shot?

two options:
1) use a different username & credit card (and pay the $5 for shipping again)
2) email service@woot.com (and not pay for shipping again)

Considering that stock is low already and it's the weekend, I'd go with the second username.

seriously this camera can take a beating.. it doesn't need to be properly secured in.. only thing is using this duct tape technique you'll probably end up with a lot of footage of the ground or the sky... improvise a bit

You can mount these things to anything - highly recommended.

There is a newer model out there, but the main differences are picture quality, not video, and a little more user friendly. If you can learn the cryptic menu system, this one works just fine.

This camera is great! I took one earlier this year to Colorado with some friends. The camera/case is awesome. I can't count how many trees the camera hit that week. Not even a scratch after a weeks use.

Video from our Colorado trip to WinterPark and SolVista. Starts off with the camera on the helmet strap, then we mounted it to the nose of our snowboards.

Shot with the same camera for sale on Woot.com!

Wow just got my order in before being sold out! First time buying form WOOT. Been wanting one of these bad for doing autocross and some road course events. Will even do a few car cruises also. I just could not justify spending $300+ on one of these. This I can justify. Thank you WOOT!

I originally bought this use while skydiving but due to health issues I can no longer jump. I now use this with my kid. Its great at amusement parks, while sleighing, swimming, bike riding or any outdoor activity where you want great HD video. I have used it to make time lapse of snowstorms. The only thing it sucks at is indoors with low light.

Here are some examples below:

When mine breaks I will replace it. I hope this review helps someone decide.

Merry Christmas.

I have one here that fell off a racing car going 150 mph.

Bought it off Craig's List from the guy who found it - for the parts, assuming it would be beyond repair.

Despite looking like The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978)†, after a good cleaning to get the crud out of the SD card socket, etc, it now works great.

Good to know. When I hot the road course with this on the strait away I am hitting about 120mph.

Wife is going to hate this camera. She does not like my taking my daily driver out on race tracks even though we are not racing. I love it! So now she gets to see it in HD!

What would be a good way to convert the time lapse jpg's to a movie file?

For extended time lapse operation, I'm getting the BacPac battery charger, which will provide a USB port out the back that I can drill an access hole through the extra back to hook up a charge cable. The stock housing doesn't have any way to connect up a cable without drilling through the main housing. Would have been better if they placed the usb port on the back of the camera so you have the option of drilling the skeleton back, which isn't waterproof anyway, so it wouldn't be any loss.

AGGGGGGGG!!! %*&@#!$# Bought one for one of my sons. Though about it and decided to get two more for my other son and myself. Woot wouldn't let me, read the rules and went to use Pay pal. They wanted an update on info, start doing that, phone rings, its my 87 year old mother. Hi Mom, uh, uh, yea, uh, ok, uh, yea, I'll do that, by, love ya. Finish Pay Pal and, AGGGGGGGG, sold out. Think I'll blame the wife, why not? she blames me for stuff.

I have one of the original GoPros and I love it! At this price, I couldn't resist! I'm excited to get away from AAA batteries! BTW although I've never had a mount fall off my motorcycle (180+mph), I use a tether as a backup. As a side note, I've gotten microSd cards in the adapter to work in my 1st gen GoPro. I can then put them in my HTC Evo 4g and watch them remotely. You just need to add a video app to your phone.

It is great for RC flying and jumping off bridges.

My dog carries one for recording his mid night excursions.
