After all of the hard fighting I had to do to get this Bag of Coal, I was on top of the world. Nothing could stop me... Then, i saw posts of the generic Burgandy Olfactory Center#39;s everyone was getting, and my hopes started sinking... But wait, mine was listed as a 4.8 Lbs box! For sure this is a good omen, since its not the same 2.9 lbs box that only has a washcloth a pico projector screen 2 lip gloss cupcakes, and a really crappy totebag with a flower on it...
then, the Burgandy Olfactory Center hit the post office, a re-weigh was done, and it became the above described Bag of S---.
I well know the rules on the Bag of Coal, but compared to the Burgandy Olfactory Center I got that had 3 busted cameras in it, or the one that had 7 copies each of superbad+Blades of glory+Team America (shrinkwrapped as 3packs) this one was a major disappointment. I mean if I were to add together the cost of everything in my sack, it didn't even come up to the $8 spent on the Burgandy Olfactory Center and the shipping. Heck, I'm hard pressed to believe it cost $3 for the pile of random chinese garbage, shoveled into the box. The labor, box, and packing tape probably cost more.
I seriously thought Woot cared about us, and although it is a business, the model they were using was one that made it fun and enjoyable to shop at. Unfortunately, the quality is slowly being phased out in favor of quantity, and quirky neat things, are being rapidly replaced with cheap Taiwanese goods.
The first 6 items I purchased from woot, I still use to this day... They were:
-Razer Diamondback Mouse
-Razer HP-1 Baracuda Headphones
-Motorola Bluetooth dongle
-Lyon Washburn Guitar kit (still learning, and have other guitars, but this one is my "I'm not afraid to play it when its too humid out" guitar)
-Wine Basics for Dummies
-Sony BluRay SATA burner.
The further from 2009 I go though, the less I use the stuff I've purchased, and for that matter, the less stuff I've felt worth while spending any money on.
I hope Colnel Crap can bring balance to the force, but I have my serious doubts. I mean the last woot off I kind of viewed not as a fun activity, but as a long drawn out struggle through tedium, and boredom.
