Did some digging around for info and found this VIDEO

It is comparing a SSD to HDD and demonstrating the speed increase on a HP ENVY 14. Be aware, no talking in the vid, but might be of interest to someone.

This woot laptop comes with the SSD, which is the faster tech.

Nope, I was in before the server crash...in fact I got the 503 after hitting the big confirmation button...a friend also had this and told me to check my email, and the confirmation was there.

walked to the front of the line with no lag on any of the pages, entered my info, clicked the large yellow button, and got my Bucket Of Crunk.

at 1:30 am.

I'm ashamed to admit I didn't think to scrutinize the page for a sneaky link, but a friend of my bro's noticed it and alerted us. I got one, bro got one but he didn't. Here's hoping for a very large box full of neat things so the cats can have a new box yet again. They're addicted to them!

Woohoo! I managed to get one (well, three actually). I really like the Christmas bags because they're like two presents in one. The first is the christmas present I get when I actually see the order confirmation. The second is when the box arrives right around my birthday.

I agree stupid servers i was on the right page for the Burgandy Olfactory Center within a minute and had my account prelogged in with the CC preloaded and still couldnt get a bag cuz of the time outs with the servers even after trying for 40min until i got the sell out. Sucks to see posts from people that logged on 10 minutes after and still got it lol. Woot ruined my xmas!

Got home from midnight mass and figured it would already be sold out like in all the years past. Saw the link right away. Flew through the order pages in record time and got my first bag of HoHo Crap ever. Thank you Baby Jesus!

With this Santa's Bag, i have 96 woots.... Just 4 more, and i'll be "better than everyone else".

Tried for a solid half hour with nothing but 503's on a dozen open tabs.. Suddenly, they all went "live" with the order page.. I placed an order on each tab, figuring ONE had to hit.. It did...

I got my first Bag of Coal! Looking forward to it, wasn't looking for the sneaky link though. I probably could've gotten it way before 35 minutes. Oh well, 2 browsers open and consistantly hitting F5, almost put me to sleep...and now I get to go to sleep!

I agree. I think that's exactly what happened. Every year they have a new 'trick' to weed out the botters. I think this year, that was the trick.

I was on the order screen within the first 30 seconds, typed in my card's security code, hit the button, and waited... until I got a 503 error. That's just the way she rolled tonight.

Man, this one was... intense. Close to a half-hour of hitting F5 in two browsers, multiple tabs, assuming it's already sold out the whole time.... Got in right at 10, got the 503 error, then a few minutes later received a confirmation e-mail. 4th or 5th Burgandy Olfactory Center now. Never gotten a xmas crap before though.

When I got in, it was super fast and easy!

lol woot doesn't like to always play fair but it reminds me of the good ole days when it was more of a challenge.

This also helps prevent the bots and programs from automatically getting people to the buy page.

I personally enjoy it when I have to look for it. They have always had one on this famous day and so you should assume that they wouldn't have changed it and looked around the page for hints and clues.

What kind of a society do we live in where people can't take the time to think, read, analyze and then act, but instead complain because they didnt do those things and missed out on Santa's bag of carp? I don't know the answer, but I do know I got mine!

Took me over a half hour, figured had to be sold out. Suddenly the page loads and takes me 15 seconds from I Want One to Order Complete. First Santa's Sack hopefully I was not too naughty this year and get something good!
