I have a Sunbeam from over 10 years ago... works great still. I'm thinking I should get another!

I heard electric blankets cause cancer. Anyone else heard this?

Got one of these last year sometime. Had to air it out for months before it stopped smelling like chemicals.

We need tablets to go with these blankets so we can snuggle up while surfing the World Wide Waste.

Ace Hardware had em for 19.99 on Black Friday and it looks like they also made the color choice for the buyer. ;)

They appear to be 29.95 on Amazon with very mixed reviews...

Now... a question, how can you throw something that is plugged in?

I've never had a heated blanket; Are these safe around cats? Say, he's sitting on me and pawing adorably at the blanket, is there a risk for kitty shocks?

I wonder if they ever actually pick the color for someone, or if it's always whatever happens to be at the top of the pile when they get to your box. If your username was ILoveRed, would you be more likely to get a red one (or would that one go to RedSucks)?

I bought one last time they were featured - mine is nice and warm, works fine, is a nice soft fleece with no funny chemical smells, and has been washed on gentle and air-dried with great results. I know last time there were a ton of complaints from people who apparently got duds or stinky ones, but mine's always been perfect.

I got these last year from woot! and they are great. Last year, you could pick from 4-6 colors, if I recall correctly (I picked mine, 2 different plaid patterns). They are toasty warm, I like the colors and the temperature adjustment. Heat up quickly, and also are quite the cat-magnet! The only downside I have to say is that they are a bit too small in the length. These are "throw" size, but don't cover from my shoulders all the way to the feet with 60" of length. For couch-usage, I get under it kinda diagonally, but it's not perfect. That said, for the price, I am pleased with it.

We have three of these and use them instead of full-sized electric blankets during the coldest part of the winter. Husband can dial his Sunbeam heated throw to the "roast" setting and I can push mine down to keep my feet warm. Unfortunately offspring thinks the blanket should grow with him and has started complaining that his is too short, but that's a pretty common with teen boys.

The cats really enjoy sleeping on them too!

These Sunbeam heated throws are durable if you wash them on the delicate cycle and dry on low heat. Ours are all 5+ years old and still look great and work perfectly.

but really... don't know. I would assume there is a protective barrier for day to day clawing. However we all know what happens when one assumes.........

I hope these are the ones they featured a year ago, or so...I missed out.... gonna use my coupon, and have a warmie for work...

Only if he chews it and manages to chew through to the cable? I have one (see post above), and one of my cats loves to curl up in my lap on it.

It's only going to get colder and these throws are toasty warm. I got two last winter and I use them almost every night during winter. Cats love to sit on them too. Great when your muscles ache all over, just like a giant heating pad.

In for two! No carpet in a two story makes for a very cold house!

Yes, shocks are possible.

In for two! Both my mother and my husband have poor circulation, so hopefully these should cut down on the January whine-quotient around here. Pray for my sanity and our poor over-twisted thermostat that it's so. xD

I find the map of the states that are buying this the most funny. It's all fairly warm (or what I as an upper midwesterner would consider warm) states.

I bought one of these two winters ago for my mom. Came home this Christmas to find out that it already died. Tempted to grab another for her but the fact that it died so soon makes me question the idea.

Only once.

Is there a chance of a person with sensitive skin or poor circulation (like my 88 year old mother-in-law) sustaining burns? I know that can be a problem with electric blankets and chemical heat wraps.
