Come to think of it, my Mr. Beer kit arrived today. If I want to rush into making another batch of brewski really quick, think these containers will keep my fresh-brewed beer from going flat?

Gluten is great stuff! Without it you can't have real bread. Pizza crust in particular needs gluten.

I bought a similar set a few months ago. Some of the containers are too small to be very useful to me, and they do take up some space, but those are my only complaints. They can even be opened and closed with one hand.

I love my lock & lock. I've not had any issues with leaking, and they are easy to get open and closed.

Unrelated question - where did deals.woot go to?

No place? It's where it's always been.

EDIT: Oh wait, you mean the link banner on the front page, don't you? Just figured that out. I've reported it as missing. Good eyes!

Got these for the practical daughter-in-law for Christmas & my grandson immediately took over half of them for his lego robot pieces. Great for storage of small pieces.

Just ordered two... we love the locking containers for my husband's lunches... and the smaller ones are perfect for sauces or side servings of veggies. YAY!

Although nice, these things take up an insane amount of cabinet space! I would stick with the less expensive and stackable, gladware!!!

i love using these for potlucks at work because they wont pop open and spill all over my car seat like the cheapo pop-top style containers. these are like the next generation of kitchen storage.

I still have 4 bottles of Humbug resting gently in my cellar =)

I have mixed feelings about these HOT pink lids. On the one hand, the color makes them easy to find. But because they're opaque, you can't see what's inside by looking from above. And the smaller containers are too short to prove a good view from the side.

I bought the 28 piece set (for the same price!) from a previous Woot and the lids are translucent. Not as sexy but more practical.

Simply, no!

If you look, a beer (or any other carbonated beverage) container has a SMALL lid, and is TIGHTLY secured. That is to keep the essential (co2) gas inside that container. The force on the lid will increase with the square of the surface of the opening.

You need a strong plastic, or glass bottle, with a hole that you can (just barely) fit a dime through, if not smaller.

You need to condition (second ferment) your beer at almost room temps, and a large lid, on a soft plastic container will lose ALL the co2 generated.

(Yes, I used to be a homebrewer, as well as working at a microbrewery.)

How durable is the hinged tab that locks shut? Anyone experience any breakage with these?

Love these....in for three, again! I usually oook once, eat two (three, four, five) times, so these hold portions for the freezer. The large ones are great for sugar and flour. Anyhting that I open and do not finish goes into lock and locks....no waste and everything stays fresh.

I've used these from the time they came out and were still made in the UK! The only time I've had a breakage problem was when I took something directly out of the freezer and attempted to open it...*snap*....off came the hinge, but if you just let it defrost for a time, no prob.

I think I'm getting a set, but what I really need is something that will keep my food freezer fresh. I love to make chili and right now my storage system is plastic ziploc bags and well, they suck.

What say you, owners of lock & lock, does this stuff prevent freezer burn?

Bought one of the rectangular containers at my local grocery store for six bucks. Needed something to pack salad for lunch that wouldn't leak oil all over my backpack. It works great - so I'm in for a set.

Anyone else have problems with this company? I ordered a set of glass lock n lock in November for a Christmas gift and still have not recieved after numerous emails.

Signing up at their home sight is a plus.

They are always having these insane sales like Surprise Boxes for $9.99 (some included $20 gift cards (but none for me))... They have so many other things than just these types. I love the ceramic bowls with the locking lids. Brought Christmas dinner to my parents in those things - carried on bicycle in chilling weather and the food was so hot the folks couldnt hold it.

The juice pitchers are made of really nice super clear plastic to look like glass...

Customer Service is hard to get thru to over the phone but very helpful. I dropped a drinking bottle and a tiny part of the lid broke off, they shipped out another bottle without too many questions.

All very unique and quality stuff!

Dont give up on phoning them. That is the best way.

I know they sent out lots of emails and their site said they were having issues getting so many orders out. I think they were overwhelmed - sounds like your order got lost and the email thing isnt working.

We use some of the bigger Lock & Locks for Rice or for our packets of Splenda if we aren't using them for left-overs. My daughter uses them to keep her art supplies in them. Yes, she's 20 in college and is taking my Lock & Locks for ART! So, I buy them when I see a good deal like this. I love lock & Lock!

I got this set and love the quality. The only problem is I expected stackable to mean they will fit inside each other when not in use; that is not what they meant: they stack on each other when full. They take up a lot of room in the cabinet. They look nice, but if space is an issue you might want something else.

I seriously hope you are jesting, sir.
Storing already fermented beer in this will cause the thing to crack, I'm sure. And who would want to drink beer out of a Tupperware bowl anyways??

I ordered these on 12/7 when they were offered last, The majority of them have nothing identifying the country of origin, but 2 of them had stickers attached stating "Made in Pakistan"... I do have some older ones that were purchased elsewhere, and those state "Made in Korea"... I assume they just outsource to whichever manufacturer can give the best price at the time.
