Ahem!

One more time!

LET'S SETTLE A QUESTION OF WHAT IT CAN OR CAN NOT CHARGE ONCE AND FOREVER

This device provides 5V at 500mA. This is the exact same voltage and amperage as your computer's or laptop's USB port.

Therefore:

IT WILL CHARGE just about any device that you would normally be able to charge from your computer's USB port. Included but not limited to: iPhone, most Android Phones, iPod, Sansa, Woot-Off lights (won't really charge them, but will power up) and so on.

IT WILL NOT CHARGE whatever you would normally NOT charge or power by plugging into your computer's USB port: iPad, Your laptop, 52" TV, Microwave, air conditioner, heavy freight train and on.

Can you charge these things on a wall outlet with the iPhone's usb/wall-outlet plug?

I bought two 2 packs of these a while back one for me and one that I was going to use for a Xmas grab bag gift at the office. After messing around using if a few times one vacation my wife noticed and started to use them, next thing you know she grabs up the other set for herself. Had to buy a last minute bottle of wine for the Xmas exchange.

I travel a lot and all the time find myself in a rush or without an place to charge my iPhone and my battery running out. This guy will give you enough charge to let you use your phone with impunity (calls, e-mail, entertainment, GPS functions). So, I throw one in my laptop bag and one in my coat pocket and go from there. Actually, these guys were handy during a brief power outage letting me use my phone for a whole day as my primary means of info.

I have been very pleased. In general, it will give me one full recharge of my iPhone. It will charge off of every USB wall charger that I have tried including Belkin, the iPhone USB wall charger, as well as my laptop and Desktop. They are small enough, lightweight and relatively unobtrusive.

Two negatives: 1. Needing to carry the extra little cable around to charge the pack is a little annoying (not due to it's size but due to losing them) and I have lost one already. 2. It does NOT charge my Kindle Fire.

That said, I'm in for another (2)

I bought these a few months ago and love them. I wish that I would have bought 3 back then but Im going to buy three or maybe even 6 today. They come individualy wrapped but you get 2 of them per order. You can charge them with any micro usb adapter. You can use your car charge, wall chrager, laptop, desktop or for me even my cable box will charge these bad boys. In addition, it will charge your cell phone or ipod. You can even power small usb powered devices. For Christmas I powered a set of LED Usb Christmas lights for 7 hours with one of these batterys. I cannot say how much I love this little battery. If you own a smart phone you need this. They also make great gifts. Buy 2, keep 1 and give 1 away.

I bought two two-packs the last tiime. Gave one charger to my son, one to my mom. I've used it and it's good for one phone charge. My mom keeps it in her handbag, just in case. My son had made his own, with a regulated power supply to charge laptops and usb devices and probably start his car! However, it is a tad big.

I bought these a few woot-offs ago and they are great.

These share the same micro USB connector(whatever it is called) as the HP Touchpad, my Samsung Captivate and my wife's Palm Pre. Because of that I can use any of my wall chargers or USB cables from those devices to charge this one.

I have 4 of these and 3 of them had the charge adapter short out within 2 months of moderate use.

I bought these a while back from Woot, and they work great. They will add about 60% charge to my Evo when charging with the phone on.

Two for $15? I'm in! This is a steal and for me very necessary (nearly every day I drain the battery on my HTC Sense before the workday is through). I bought a "Skin" style battery for my Sense and it cost about $560 dollars and micro USB charging port snapped off within eight weeks! Also bought just a straight replacement battery for the Sense at the T-Mobile store for about $40 (impulse purchase). This Duracell offer seems to be quite a value at double the price!

I bought these during a recent woot and found that they worked real well. They charged by iPod touch, Blackberry, and even my Sony camcorder. Gave one to my daughter so that she can keep her Droid-powered phone charged on trips, etc.

I charge them using a USB phone wall charger without any problems.

Well worth the money.

I use a regular micro USB phone charger for mine and it works great. I keep the battery in my purse and it has saved my butt a few times. ESP when traveling.

I love these batteries. I use one for long bike rides when my iPhone battery dies. The iPhone GPS kills it's battery. These are great for any extended trips where you don't have access to an electric socket.

I bought these last Woot, and love them.

They have kept my iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4S from dying on multiple occasions. I keep one in each purse. I seriously don't leave home without it.

I have charged them with a USB wall adapter. They have an adapter for adding charge, and you use a different port for USB out.

I really like pairing it with a stubby (2") USB - iPhone cable or a retractable one. That way they don't take too much space in my purse.

Sorry if this has been answered already, but can someone who already owns one say how long they will hold a charge if they are pumped up and sit in a laptop bag waiting to be used?

I'm already in for 4 of these, BTW.

Bought a set from the previous woot! offering, and I have to say that they work well. Users should heed the warning about the microUSB adapter side being fragile, because one of mine is now pushed into the chassis of the battery and is will not charge.

The other one, however, has been a lifesaver for my HTC EVO 4g phone, and it uses the same cable as the phone. Therefore I have been ignoring the mini USB cable.

I may go to the Duracell website and see if there is a contact # to discuss my broken battery. The previous post about someone getting a refund from Duracell has made me cautiously optimistic.

I can haz wootawf?

Yeah! Got some for my husband since he never remembers to charge his phone.

I'd gotten him one of those battery pack+cases, but it was recalled so I've been looking for something that will do the job. Paid $70 for that case+charger, and these are only $15 for two - sign me up for two sets!

This is a good option if you have your iPhone 4S in a custom skin/case -- the slide-on battery adapter from Energizer that I used for my 3GS didn't fit my wife's phone anymore.

You should be able to charge these in wall outlets using your phone charger cord. That is what I do with another brand. Works just fine, thanks to interchangeable micro-USB plugs. (We have Verizon phones, Kindle Touch and Kindle Fire.)

My other branded 1200mAh charger recharges my iPhone (~1475mAh) about 40%-50%, I'm expecting this one (1800mAh) to recharge about 60%-75%. As for iPad's, even Zagg's $100 6000mAh battery only recharges about 60% so don't even bother hooking this up to an iPad. Lastly my tip is to leave it in the car permanently charging (when you don't have something else to charge or use a car adapter splitter or a dual USB adapter) - that way when you do need it, it's accessible and fully charged.

gesnerj59 wrote:Wow. Recharge the recharger so I can recharge my device... Can you say redundant?

The point of the device is to take a single point-of-failure (which always fails after some time) and provide redundancy--deliberately! I use a similar device to guarantee that I have available in the car a second full portable charge, for which I have been thankful on numerous occaisions.

The price of these devices is remarkable, and the reviews posted above by actual users inspire confidence. As the device I am currently using is starting to wear down (After years of service, I don't expect it to be useful for but a few more months), I am in for one...er, two...or maybe six.

If you have portable devices that are charged by standard USB, a device such as this is a must-have. And the price is outstanding. Get a pair or more. They also make great gifts.

Oh, one more thing, despite disclaimers to the contrary, a standard USB port will, v e r y s l o w l y, add charge to an iPad while it is off. This battery surely does not carry enough juice to charge the iPad fully, but may still add the critical amount of charge to get you where you need to go. While an iPad is on, standard USB charging seems to maintain the status-quo.

I purchased this last time it was on woot. They do a good job of charging my phone. In about 2 hours, these batteries fully charge my 1300mAH phone battery.

The work good in crunch situations, where you're on the go, and don't have time to plug it into a wall charger. I left one in my car for this reason.
