I checked, it seems like this tablet will not be getting Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich - ICS).
No ICS 4.0 for Thrive!

On the phone with support for my wifi disconnecting problem and not waking up and asked about ICS. He said the Thrive will NOT be getting ICS and there will be a new tablet coming out soon. Thrive is going back to best buy today if my problems aren't resolved. Very dissapointed in it so far....
I have the ASUS Transformer, Color Nook, and the Vizio table that Woot sold before.
Android 3.x is nice. IMHO, 2.x (froyo) is a joke on a tablet.
Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich - ICS) is better and has some nice features. Also, Google is now starting to enforce/define how a proper Android App should look and act. And, it based on the assumption of building on the Android 4.0 (ICS) framework.
ICS is the merger of the more phone-oriented version of Android (2.x - Froyo) and the more tablet oriented version of Android (3.x - Honeycomb).
I LOVE my tablet(s) for the ease of checking email, news websites, woot :-), etc, etc.
Today, I suggest that people only buy a tablet that has ICS, or will be getting ICS. Heck, at CES they announced a few tablets with ICS under $300. Yes, you get what you pay for.
IMHO, as long as a tablet plays 720P videos fine, plays flash fine, has access to the Goggle and Amazon markets, has decent performance, has decent capacitive touch, then IMHO, it's fine for 99.9% of the tablet use out there.
This tablet may be good (expensive) for kids especially if they want it mainly for games, ereader, photos, and videos.
For adults, I suggest getting a tablet that has, or will get, ICS.
