If I'm not mistaken, the Patriots have been getting fat off the Jets, Dolphins, and Bills all year. I dont; think they have beaten one team with a .500 or better record this year.

As an LSU fan, I have to agree. When teams of that caliber play, its a tough game. When one team beats another - they dont want a re-match because they will lose. I was worried when we had to play Alabama again because I knew our defense would get spread out and they would find some holes - which they did.

Now as far what happened on our offense, that's a different story. Rumor has is something to do with Lee's grades... I don't think half of ANY college football team got on the team because of their grades, so I HIGHLY doubt that. Friends seem to think he slept with Miles' daughter...

Edit: Woot! changed "d o n o t w a n t" to Anvilania ... ???

I'm a big Pats fan, but I'm surprised here. I would have throught that one of the other teams would have been #1. They are, though, the only #1 seed remaining, after NY knocked off Green Bay. Or should I say, NY won after Green Bay seemed to be in some kind fog the entire game. They looked very sharp for most of the season, then looked like poop in the playoffs. Kind of like the Pats the last 2 years. Maybe they had some kind of a collective food coma from too many brats before the game.

Eli Manning is the most non-consistent QB in the league. If he didn't have a extremely good core of receivers such as Victor Cruz who have to make plays to make Eli look good, people would think differently about him.

I just want to make sure I understand you correctly... Eli is non-consistent (sic) and people would think differently if he didn't have "great receivers"? How well do you think Brady would be playing without Welker, Gronkowski, and Hernandez. You can't have it both ways dude. Besides, before this season, I don't think anyone, including players on the Giants, even knew who Victor Cruz was. Eli has played great all year. Most 4th Quarter TDs in NFL history, just under 5k yards. You sir need to give credit where it's due.

Playing from behind and finishing 9-7 is anything but spectacular. Giants are the hot team right now and are doing it at the right time of the year. (See Saint Louis Cardinals of 2011 for another example)

Never said anything spectacular about the team. Eli has played spectacularly though. They were playing from behind all year because their defense was playing like the contents of a Barrels of Crud Eli saved their entire season. All that really matters now is exactly what you said, they are peaking at the right time. (See the same Giants in 2007 for another example)

I think this is the year for the Detroit Lions to go all the way. They're a scrappy team who shouldn't let one loss in the playoffs slow them down!

Speaking as a long-suffering Lions fan and Michigan man... anybody but the 49ers. Every time the camera goes to Harbaugh on the sidelines, he looks like his head's going to explode. Which might be fun to watch, by the way.

Wrong. That would be the ideal possible matchup. A throwback to an era when having dominating defenses was important, and every yard gained was a yard earned. Other people see slogs, but I see great football.

49ers. They are the team of destiny. I am not even a 49ers fan. They are playing great right now and do not see them losing.

The Giants are beatable. The Ravens don't have enough offense and the Pat's don't have it this year.

One of the league's best RB's and fastest WR's? not to mention our supreme defense. yes Gonk will have a few catches but he will be covered and contained for the most part. not even worried about welker, we'll have our shutdown corner on him-Webb. Sizzle will be in brady's face all day and ed reed will be hawking his throws.

Ravens 24 Pats 17

Your defense is excellent but we've got too many threats out there to plausibly think you can contain us. Welker, Gronkowski, Hernandez, Branch, all of those guys can catch the ball and all of them are capable of getting some good yardage after the catch too (Gronk especially). Not to mention Green-Ellis, Woodhead, and Ridley on the run game.

If we continue to play like we did last weekend and not like we were the last few games of the regular season I don't see us losing. Our defense, while still not strong, looks like they're starting to pull it together too.

Wow...you really hit an element of truth! Green Bay beat themselves! So if you're right, why did the Giants even show up? Why didn't the Giants just stay in their hotel rooms and watch the Packers beat themselves on television?

Sure, Rogers had a bad day and so did the rest of his team have a bad day. But the truth is that the Giants were compleately responsible for making them have a bad day. The Pack was compleatly outclassed by a better team. In the parlance of the players, Rogers and the Pack got what is known as "an old fashioned ass whooping!"

1) I appreciate your old-school spelling of "compleat."

2) The Giants played a great game.

3) That said, that doesn't account for flat-out drops by multiple wide-open GB receivers.

4) Even if they hadn't had the drops, the Giants still could have won, but saying that NY was *completely* responsible for GB's bad day isn't entirely accurate.

False, Packers had a maligned O-line that finally played together for the first time since week 4, their Offensive Coordinator's son had just passed away, & they dropped more than a half dozen passes that hit them in the hands! Drops aren't PD's

49ers. Mostly because I've waited patiently since the early 90's to say, "hey, we finally rebuilt!"

The Packers handed that game to the Giants. The G-men aren't consistent enough to hold out against the 49ers.
I'm expecting the Pats to win, but I'd rather see Baltimore make it to the big game this year.

To be fair, Eli is a bit inconsistent. He was outperformed by Rex Grossman in the last week of the regular season and the week before that, they would have lost if they weren't playing the league's worst team. He has had a great season, though.

Also, Brady would still perform well without Gronkowski, Hernandez and Welker. I don't know how old you are, but he won three superbowls without any of them.
