Yeah seriously. The outside seems very lacking in functionality, so seeing the inside would be sort of important.

Last time I bought a Philips remote, it was defective (flawed design/components) that they refused to acknowledge was a problem, even though there were a lot of people who were having exactly the same problem. They would fix your remote for free if you could prove you were under warranty, but if you were out of warranty, you couldn't even pay to get it fixed. Early touchscreen remotes were really expensive, so I had a very pricey paperweight.

I'll never buy another Philips remote.

Hmmm... now that I think about it, this would be a good replacement for the giant Omnitech remote I have now to channel-block my hubby...

Replace those channel buttons with a guide button and page up/page down and you'd have something here. Who the heck uses the channel buttons on their remote anymore? You going to channel surf through 800 cable channels to find what you're looking for?

I wonder if this remote would work with my tv. Bought a 42 inch Olevia many years ago and no remote except for the original tv remote will work with it, have tried many, tried all the codes, nothing. After spending another hundred dollars or so over the years trying to find an universal remote I have all but giving up! To woot or not to woot!!!

probably why it is 99 cents. put it on tv with wilford brimley and it will sell a million at 19.95

I'm tempted, as my cats have chewed on the remote to the TV in my bedroom... the power button no longer exists.

a review from amazon - "this remote would be great if it used triple AAA batteries, however it uses two CR2032 batteries which it discharges within an hour after you insert them.
I bought one, it worked great after setup, but an hour later I went to use it and nothing, it was dead. I thought it was just the batteries so I bought two more, inserted them, and set it back up, and it worked fine, then an hour later, nothing, the batteries were dead again. So I took the remote back and got a replacement, got it set up, and went though the whole problem again.
So, stay clear of this remote, it is not worth it."

With a slight modification you can use it to control a pacemaker. Tons of fun!
