WalMart has em. Dollar tree has em. Were it not for the button batteries, I'd be in for three of these. I have an elderly person in mind that would greatly benefit from teh simplicity of a 6 button remote.

WORST WOOT ITEM...ever

I've had one of these for about six or seven years, now. While it's certainly not comfortable to hold, it is very effective, and you won't ever have to worry about losing it because it's so ugly you'll be able to spot it from a mile away.

It's worked on everything I've ever tried using it on, and the battery draw seems to be absolutely minimal.

If you've got an old TV or stereo or something that's lost its remote, this is a good, cheap way of being able to keep your butt firmly planted on the couch or in your chair. Also, if you have kids (or roomates) who tend to break things, this is a great cheap alternative to your pricey factory remote.

And if your girlfriend ever likes to steal the remote, order three. That way if she keeps taking it, you have extras you can pull out from the space between the couch cushions. Or you can annoy her by pretending it's a flip phone or a tricorder.

No, it doesn't make tricorder noises. Sorry. =(

go to ebay and you will see many sellers in China selling remotes for your camera for $2. they work fine. they are the same IR remote that pentax sells for $20.

When was the K-X on woot? I spent the last 6 months saving to fix my K200d. I could not find a deal on the kx. How much was it. I sure hope they do not have one today. I will be torn.

In my system I have TV, AppleTV, XBOX, PS3, TIVO, Receiver. (All controlled by my iPad :-)

In for three, my niece might like a cell phone.

Sadly i don't think this remote will work too well with my setup. Cable box is finicky with remotes and I need to be able to quickly access and navigate the guide.

They started carrying them in wootoffs in the middle of last year, JUST AFTER I broke down and bought a used K-200d body elsewhere, naturally.

Was so excited to check out Woot for the first time in ages and see a Woot off! Now I'm just depressed...

This item is seriously dragging. Either no one is buying into this carp, or they have thousands of these they are trying to stick us with.

I guess I'll be the first one to break down and offer the obligatory question: Is this compatible with my Mac?

I hope "the powers that be" at Woot realize this item isn't moving because the lack of photos of the actual inside buttons...

Uh, nobody came to our house last season to watch the game. How did you know that there is a table full of remotes here? And, my hubby really doesn't MEAN to test each component and remote during the first 15 minutes of each program.

Just got back from a meeting to find THIS?! COME on woot! And another thing... if you'd announce your woot off's in advance, some of us could block out the day on our calendar to prevent those "non-wooter" people from inviting us into meetings! A lil common courtesy goes a long way! :p

Looks like you need to use shift to get guide... Because Philips seems to think closed captioning is more likely to be important to the target market... Maybe they are indeed on to something there ("WHAT? I can't hear my stories!!!").

The CR2032 battery (2 pack) runs $5.99 at BestBuy....so it's like a free remote from WOOT for the price of the batteries alone.
Doesn't make the remote any less ugly, though.

- TV
- U-verse Cable Box
- Blu-Ray Player
- Stereo Receiver
- CD Player (granted, this almost never gets used anymore)
- VCR (rarely used, but yes, I still have one)
- Xbox media remote

It's not so hard, people! And yeah, yeah, it's just copy ctrl+t and paste, but if you're going to "do the work for me" you might as well actually do the work for me!

I'm already controlling enough but if I needed a universal remote control this would be it. Simple shortcuts on the main panel and easy to program. Go for it, you know you have 99 cents burning a hole in your pocket.

I wouldn't even remotely consider buying one of these

The price is right!
