Conveniently enough I've been wanting one like this. Glad to help keep moving things along!

I totally wooted this thing. I wooted all over it. GPS integrated with a HR monitor - that's enough tech bundled into something this size that I'll use it.

If my hart stops beating will I have time to read it?

Less than 15 minutes in and we're already half way through.

Alas, the rumors of the woot-off's demise were greatly exaggerated.

edit: was not a woot. i have no clue where i got it before, but i am kinda stingy and don't think i spent more than thirty bucks for the thing.

you didn't get the gps watch, you got just the heart rate monitor, this is a great price for a GPS watch

Bag of Cuuuuuute! doesn't really exist, it is a myth to get people to hang around for woot off's anyone who says they got one lies

As an avid runner with a GPS watch, the HR monitor does NOT score me any bedroom points with the wife. I think it's an apt description.

Ditto! I sent this link to my fiancee who was about to buy me a similar GPS/heart monitor for ~$200 at Bubba Bo Bob Brains. Lucky timing - saved $100. Thanks Woot!

Edit: At that one sporting goods store whose name starts with a D and makes you think 'ick', in a plural sense.

These are great little devices and you're not going to get one with these functions for this price elsewhere. There is a hidden gem in this thing... You can pre-set a route and the watch will tell you when you're 'supposed' to be turning. It's not a GPS like the tom tom, but is nice when going on a 20 mile hike and just need a little extra help making sure you get back to the car

And do they get a starting point, or throw darts at a board or just pull the story out of their heads randomly?

I've read the write-ups and I don't think most of them come out of their "heads."

That's comparing apples to oranges though. The ebay item serves a very different purpose. Probably ok for the in home treadmill user, although I would even question it's accuracy.. But that's all a low cost item like that is good for.

Anyone having issues with the software?

Yes, I did. I followed someone's suggestion and went to redcloverwatches.com and under support downloaded REDCLOVER TRAING CENTER SOFTWARE (V1.01)and that solved the problem for me. Also, the manual for the RC10008-B (same watch with different brand) is similar but a little more clearly written.

Ooops. I spoke too soon. The Redclover software stopped working. It worked a couple of times and then stopped working, just like the software that came with the watch.

I cracked the data the data that contains heart rate and all other data. If someone out there knows perl or other programming language that wants to merge it with the exported Mapmyrun .gpx file. send me a PM. This watch would be awesome if we could just export the Heart rate data with the tracks to analyze. I don't suppose it would take a person with the right skills much time to do this.
